Installation: I have installed this software several times (because of the crash of the motherboard, among other concerns), each time the installation went smoothly.

Incompatibilities: None.

Easy configuration?: Without any difficulty.

Manual: getting started is frankly too brief, and I agree with other users, for the price, a paper manual is not a luxury. Especially since the manual partition editor in French is not available to my knowledge. Owners of Steinberg would they be shareholders Eyrolles editions?

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

My current configuration: P4 2.4 Ghz, Asus P4P800X, a P-ATA HDD 80 GB, an S-ATA HDD 300 GB, Sound Card Wami Rack 192-X

Cubase SX3 works perfectly with all the features I've worked with, even if it means that the software Intel prefers to the more exotic such as VIA or SIS: I want this information from my dealer.

Performance: a score using virtual instruments and plug-ins per session CPU consumers, I've never had a major concern and it happened to me in reading the CPU is a little behind, but in this case, I increase the latency of the sound card, and voila!

OVERALL OPINION

I use Cubase Cubase since version 5.1 and I went through all the upgrades and updates since then I've never regretted it. Steinberg was the genius who is editing software that adapt to all kind of users, from amateur to professional composer beginning, from studios to home studio through the DJ ... everyone can find their account.
That is why if the adventure was Cubase again, without hesitation I would do, even if the initial investment is heavy (5000 in F at the time), as soon as that step, the world of computer music was flung open and barrier-free ...
A note on the protection policy Steinberg: I feel the only hassle is that the USB port protection occupies a USB on a desktop PC, no problem, most PCs today are teams of 6 to 8 USB ports, but on a laptop in most cases only contains three! What if you use several software claiming all their USB drive and want to connect more USB mouse, a USB hard drive or a USB sound card?
