Hi all,
I am new to recording and am trying to figure which is my best and cheapest option to get myself going. What does anyone recomend? Seperate Preamps or a mixer like the XENYX 1202FX. Any help at all would be appreciated. I only want to record gutar, vocals and bass ect ect. Is micing up the best option or using a preamp like the pod. Thanks in advance.

micing is the best option IF you have a good sounding room.
If you don't have such a room, the POD will be fine.
as for vocals, use a preamp. consider a mixer only if you'll have to deal with a complete drumkit.
