Hey Mike,
Great article once again with great tips.
I like to add the following
* If the speakers are placed on a desk or shelf you have to keep in mind that the desk should be invisible to the speaker, meaning you should prevent reflections from the desk into your ears.
* Don't force the speakers to much into the corners. it wil boost your low end.
and their is more but i don't have the time now to write them down
