The compression is very effective, although increases my pick attack, I love. on the other hand I find it a lack of intensity distortion with a little push.

For now I've tested it with my Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus with my Marshall Valvestate 8080, also with a DS-1 and a Small Clone

I do not put that 8 because of the lack of impact on distortion. M'enfin is good to quibble a bit more than anything else ...

Hmm I would say two weeks now

- What is so special that you like most and least?
I love potato adds that when I play, I like when a pedal does its job, this is the case then I'm happy!
What I like least is the chrome buttons. It's super class, it will look good with a little vintage mister Edward but against any days you do not see the small level indicator above. This is unfortunate but it is good of the order detail.

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
No! I bought a chorus on the net and saw this little pedal on the site, I broke down Since I wanted a lil spice up my compressor to sound.

- How would you rate the quality / price?
For less than € 60 I think it's great! The case is sturdy (similar strength as the Boss), the sound is good, not much wind, and easy to use, that you ask for?

- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
I have found nothing better as a compressor for the price (at the same time I did not look either!) Maybe with more finances would have more of the more upscale, but for now, is still a novice of the handle 6-string, I will not hesitate to take a sudden if mine was more in my pedalbord.

SOUND QUALITY

The compression does his job. There is a lot of possibilities because of the settings quite complete.
The only downside: this pedal colors the sound. Too much for me. It adds a grain that I do not like my sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years. It's a good little compression not very expensive.
The only regret is the lack of transparency. I think that to have a very transparent compression, you must go and look for Keeley Compressor Maxon or CP9pro, but not in the same price ...

SOUND QUALITY

The sounds you get with this pedal are pretty good. The controls are responsive and actually influence the sound without being extremely accurate. (This is not Tech21) But that's fine. We arrive to find what you want quickly.

Equipment used: Fender Tom Delonge Stratocaster plugged into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Limited Edition Red Wine (used only in clean) and a Tech21 California for lead through jack in good condition and of sufficient quality.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought a few years ago but used only by periods jerky ... Desperate to try every time to use it but quickly changing his mind and putting it back in its box ...
Already, it tends to color the sound, something that can pass to the limit (it boosts the mids), but what bothers me most is that it also produces breath. Logic for a compressor we say, but ... In its clear this is not awkward at all (or almost inaudible) but once it gets triggered saturation embarrassing. Especially if the compression is knob led to more than 1 / 4 of its stroke.
It is true that I have not tried the other compressor so good ... I'm not saying that this pedal is bad, far from it. But the fact that it is not transparent latch the picture somewhat. Again, in my case this is not annoying but it can be for someone looking for a compressor that does not color his sound. (My favorite things anyway)

That is why I intend to turn to another compressor. In this case a Wampler Ego Compressor that looks to be better, a little more complete and very, very clear! Having regard to the normal price range is another.

The price / quality ratio seems correct (especially since the price has dropped in the meantime) but again, there are many other compressors that I have not tried.

I do not probably do it again this choice today.

As for the technical characteristic I think my fellow goes around the issue.

SOUND QUALITY

The responsiveness of this pedal is excellent. What is expected of a compressor is that it works the sound of an immediate and remarkable. Without distorting it! This compressor does the job, neither more nor less, and that is exactly what every musician has in mind when investing in effect. Moreover an insert effect which relates directly the sound.

What I wanted was to have a uniform sound with a boost of momentum regardless of the type of guitar used. Impeccable contract completed.

OVERALL OPINION

To conclude I would say that as a sound technician performing regular studio recordings, this type of accessory should be part of the toolbox of any serious guitarist. Distos even before the reverb, the delays, tremolos and other ring modulators!
Indeed, what matters is not only what an amp should output speaker but also to know what food is served to the preamp!
Earlier a sound will be defined in terms of dynamics and clarity it will be handled more efficiently by live and studio technicians.
In short, a nice little pedal with a good value for money!

The Marshall ED-1 Compressor is an analog compressor designed for use with the electric guitar, but is suitable for any electronic instrument. UTILIZATION

The make up of the Marshall ED-1 Compressor is really simple and easy to follow as it has a series of four knobs that each will control a different aspect of your sound. From right to left it has knobs for compression, attack, volume, and emphasis, the latter of which is kind of like a tone knob. This is pretty much all there is to it and anyone with any sort of experience with guitar pedals or compressors won't have too much trouble with it. I don't have the manual for this pedal but it is easy enough to use that you don't really need it.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound of the Marshall ED-1 Compressor is a bit above average and will definitely do what it advertises to do, which is compress your guitar signal in any way you see fit. I usually use this pedal with a Fender Strat and a 1976 Fender Twin Reverb and I'm always pretty happy with the results I am able to get. There is a good amount of control over your tone available, which adds to the overall number of sounds that are possible with this pedal. While I've used some better compression pedals before, the Marshall ED-1 Compressor is a nice pedal in its own right.

OVERALL OPINION

I first used Marshall ED-1 Compressor guitar pedal about two or three years ago and since then it has always done well for me. I like the overall tone it has and the ease of use makes it a good option for players on all experience levels. The price is very reasonable if not downright cheap and certainly gives you some bang for your buck. While I prefer the Boss CS-3 compression pedal to this one, the ED-1 is a good pedal and will last a while if you treat it properly. If you are in the market for a compression guitar pedal I would encourage you to check out this pedal as well a few other pedals out there like the CS-3 or the MXR Dynacomp to see what will work best for you and your situation.
