« Boss MT-2 Metal Zone »
Published on 07/17/02 at 15:00I was looking for a good distortion and BOSS is pretty reliable. I found the MT-2 and it suited my needs fairly well, so I bought it at Guitar Center for somewhere around $80.
It's rather durable and has a good range. I can get a lot of sounds out of this sucker.
It's a bit expensive and it tends to still be a bit to metalish and beefy in the less distorted overdrive range sounds, but what do you expect? It's called "Metal Zone." If you want overdrive, get an overdrive pedal or a good amp.
Like I said, it's a BOSS product, so you could have an elephant stomp on it without breaking it.
Bottom line? Buy it if you want metal. If you're looking for an all-purpose solution to all your distortion needs, then don't let the other reviews fool you... This isn't it.
