UTILIZATION

4 knobs. RATE / DEPTH / RES / TYPE phasinh Rate = rate or speed of the effect / DEPTH, depth or level of effect / Res resonnance / type 1 or 2, two sensitivity modes.

Easy Edition, but it will be to dig a little to find the right setting.
(I use it with synths)

The battery is inserted very easily by unscrewing the bolt hand a little plastic cover.
The battery lifetime of 15 minutes!

SOUND QUALITY

I do not know if it is true bypass, but there is no difference in output level depending on whether the effect is Inrush, and that this ets well!

does not sound digital, and that's very good! (Normal you tell me for an analog pedal)

OVERALL OPINION

I have not pushed to its limits. But for now, I am satisfied. the signal is not degraded as with digital behringer phaser integrated into tables, or like the SP606 sampler.

What I like least is that these pedals are supplied without power supply (lol)

Ok... This IS my favorite phaser, because you will NEVER ever get the same IN YOUR FUKING FACE phase like this puppy does in mode 2. Mode 1 is a 10-step phase whereas mode 2 is a 12-step. Even if you only want a thick phase, the mode 1 still shows its worth its weight in gold. Generally, I use the mode 1 for a respectively fast phase, and mode 2 on a really slow phase so it hits every step in detail and it just sets a great mood. Mike Einziger of Incubus has 2 of these in his rig plus a MXR phase 90. Talk about proffesional. He asked himself, "I wonder what it would sound like if I crossed a phased signal into a second phased signal." Listen to The Warmth by Incubus, and wait for the break down. When the drums and bass come in, he turns the second phaser on. You may think to yourself, thats just overly produced. Ught uh. You will hear the same exact thing in person with two PH-2's in mode 2. Fucking 1337.

I got this pedal from AMS (AMERICAN MUSICAL SUPPLY)for 79.95 plus tax.I live in memphis but they just charge more here than they do for mail order.

Well the reason I got this is b/c I wanted an outboard phaser to use instead of just using my GT-3's.This pedal is pretty damn cool.I like the thin rotary speaker sounds it makes and the way it sounds when it's set up for light chord work.But really I guess thats all I like about it.

Well the pedal would be worth it in my opinion,but it has got a few flaws.Like the second mode is just to bassy and it just muddies up the sound.And also if your gonna use batteries you better have some good ones b/c it seems like they fuck up the signal no matter what.Also I hear they might be taking it off the market ,(BUT THATS KINDA GOOD IF YOU OWN ONE B/C I'M SURE IT WILL BE AN ITEM TO LOOK FOR LATER).

Well of course BOSS pedals are built like tanks anybody who plays knows that.And the quality is pretty good too ,I had a couple of questions to ask the makers of it , and they were pretty straight.

All in all it's pretty cool its not something you'll need to use all the time ,but when you do need it its good to have one.And maybe it could be something everybodies looking for in a few years.Never know on something like this, it's totally a personal decision.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use - plug in, stomp, and play. The pedal is simple to get a good tone out of, if you like swooshy, swirly sounds.

Durability-wise, Boss is a clear winner. The stompboxes come in a super durable housing, with a top-grade switch. I've dropped a Boss pedal onto concrete from 5 feet up, and it worked just fine afterward, so I have no reservations with how it will hold up during live use.

SOUND QUALITY

This is a niche sound, for sure. But wow, is it a cool one! This pedal nails all the early Incubus tones, like on the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. album from 1997. (You stare at me like I'm a vitamin!) It gets a nice depth to it, yet sounds "milky". It can achieve some interesting nasal timbres, as well as huge swooshing water-churning sounds. The sounds of this pedal can really only be achieved by this pedal, or the PH-3 Phaser model.

OVERALL OPINION

For wacky sci-fi tones, this is impossible to beat. It can really nail the Star Trek "phasor" gun type of vibe, interestingly enough. This is a very cool phaser pedal, for sure, and there is a lot of different modulation tones in this box. One thing I could not get it to do was mimic a Univibe convincingly, which was a bit disappointing, but it does its own thing so well that this point didn't change my opinion of its magic. I highly recommend this pedal for any tone rangers that want to get a little weird with their swoosh tones.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound is excellent (be careful because its pretty typical boss ie synthetic).
I also have a phaser ehx smallstone. The sound of ph2 is much more manageable and allows him no problem fuck the ass other effect, I use a delay or whammy or wah or tremolo.
In my opinion one of the best boss pedals I tried.

So it's a phase that has two modes ... Two types of phaser actually ...

Operation is very simple ... Three rglages, "rate", "depth" and "res", the latter rsonnance ... Then a mode button, select which type of phase. ..

I bought this secondhand pedals, just by chance ...
I love the sound in "I" ... The rgages are fast and efficient ... however when you push the button too "res" effect can be a bit messy, especially when other effects are not ... I utiliss accuentuation a treble which can be dsagrable rglages with some ...

mode "II" is a phaser caractrise more distant but also more aggressive ... I find I use it only rarely rev ...
I use it in gnral SERIES in effect on my setup but I happen to plug it into a loop, which is trs interresting if one can dose the volume of Indeed, it can provide kinds of ground trs intrressantes SERIES ... In the effect is more direct but when rglages agreed about the results it gives trs honorable ...

I have a lot of boss pedals and it soon found its way into my setup ...

I find the pedals trs intrressante ... Attention in fact not to use too much either ... There was some tendency to use across the beginners, but I think that this type of effect should be used sparingly because it can s'avrer boring especially the people around you ...
In any case I am satisfied with my purchase trs, I wanted a flanger before buying it but it suits me well trs;

I have not tried a lot of phaser either but personally I use that fact it fits me like a glove ...

Boss set out to top its accomplishments of the PH-1 and the Boss Ph-1R. This adds a rate control knob and a switch for two different phasing modes. You have all of the same features and tone as the original and the PH-1r but the added rate knob and mode switch allows the user to get even more tonal options and possibilities of your guitar signal.

SOUND QUALITY

The tone of this phaser is a pretty good one. You get more of the feel of the MXR flanger in this pedal. You have the rate, depth, and res, with the added mode switch which is very similar to the MXR flanger. The tone of this is all analog and you can really hear that feel in the tone.

You can really hear the difference in the two mode selections. The first section as a more milder tone phase. The sound is not as thick and is cutting less in the signal. The second mode is more in your face. You hear the effect pedal a lot more and there is less of a dry signal in the guitar circuit. Both modes are very easy and usable in almost any application. It just comes down to which one you prefer over the other in any give situation.

OVERALL OPINION

These pedals were made from 1984 to 2001, so the used market is the only way to go. I have seen them on the classifieds for right around $65 or so. The used ones from Japan are easily identified as they have a black label and sometimes fetch more money than the made in Taiwan ones do. I would recommend his pedal to anyone who loves the sound of an analog phase circuit and wants ones of the most perfect sounding pedals that has ever been created to do that.

This is another in the line of standard boss stomp boxes. It has stamdard 1/4" input and output jacks, rear 9 volt DC jack, battery compartment under bypass, along with top controls for rate (speed), depth, resonance, and mode (1 or 2).
Like the rest it's all contained in a small box built like a brick.

UTILIZATION

Set-up is simple like the rest of the boss single pedal line. It hooks up like any other pedal with two cables and some power whether it's a battery or standard "boss style" adapter. The controls are pretty self explanatory but the manual is well written and explains the difference between the two modes and what the depth and resonance controls do. Like most pedals I prefer the hands on approach to figuring these things out.

SOUND QUALITY

I used this pedal in a large pedal board set up as one of two modulation pedals. I found the bypass to be fine as long as there weren't lots of other buffered bypass pedals in line with it. I did not notice a big loss in tone that could not be remedied by adjusting the amp's tone controls. In some cases the buffer actually helped my sound as I was running a tossed together board at the time and needed something to help drive my signal through the mess.

The phaser effect was alright. It's good enough for most uses but is not anything special and has a pretty consistent sound no matter where the dials are. Obviously there is a difference with all controls on ten as opposed to zero but I could always tell it was the boss phaser even when hearing others use it. Listen to an old incubus record and you will hear this pedal a lot.

I preferred mode 1 as it was a bit more subtle and could be used more often without sounding too over the top. With the speed set slow and depth midway it was a nice way to add movement to clean parts. I never liked how it sounded with distortion. In front of distortion it sounds cheap and after distortion it has way to much of an effect on the sound.

OVERALL OPINION

If you just need a simple phaser for a few parts this will probably work for you. It's a boss so it's pretty much impossible to break and it's easily replaceable. The older ph1 is a much better sound if you can find one and beyond that there are tons of other phasers with more options and better sounds.

The effect is therefore proposed a phaser, analog, very green farting, gives color to the pedalboard!

UTILIZATION

The PH-2 is very simple to ring, and there is what to do with this pedal, I did not know anything before it was acquired (!). If you like Incubus, this pedal will remind you inevitably some riffs Einziger (Vitamin, New skin, ...). Nowhere Fast

SOUND QUALITY

It sounds pretty sweet, responsive to the nuances of your game, here colors very well, may be discrete or invasive, glue a lot of styles, yeah not necessarily need to play funk and reggae to use a phaser.

Effective as its clear that its full. A preference for any time in its clear effect Inrush and the neck pickup ...

It is true that the effect may be synthetic tell us the opposite of his "water" and very deep (EHX, MXR ....)
