Published on 05/05/12 at 23:52I bought 2 celestion super 8 to € 15 secondhand. I made a cab and I've pasted in one.
I tried a few other HP: Celestion G12H30 I love vintage 30 very correct, and brutal G12H100 right bottom, and G12T75, jensen C10R fenderien more, and stuff that are mounted on base transos amps.
The nice feature size, flaw, it's still a bit boxy.
Excellent value for money.
With experience, I will try out the 10 '...
Its level: This is the celestion, it is more about something typed English, far from the Jensens, therefore the media see a bit too.
No real lack of bass for my taste, I'm even surprised, however, is not super deep bass. The definition is very correct.
Performance is dismal, which may be a defect or a quality following the use we want to do.
So let's be clear when playing in his room compared to a celestion 12 to 100 €, it's not great, it always sounds a bit Boxy ... But fine, it makes too much cardboard either.
But he has good assets: 8 'sounds a little cab, really easy to shake my 2x12. Very poor performance, it can increase the volume of a small 5W lamp without taking off the wallpaper (watch it appart is likely to remain too strong). The small bump in the midrange is pretty nice when a microphone in front of glue to register, it goes just as well in the mix in the end.
In short, for a small cab back to large mobility and small footprint, in order to move or make the sound is very nice. To play it all day long in either, a big 12 ', it's still more fun.
