If you liked the Palisades overdrive, an effect inspired by the famous 808, you’ll soon have the opportunity to put your foot on The Dunes, a more compact version. The pedal features gain, tone, level, voicing and bandwidth controls, as well as a Normal/Bright switch.
The Voicing control offers three options: Mosfet for a crunchy sound (setting 3 on the Palisades), Silicon for a pure 808 tone (setting 5 on the Palisades) and None that ranges from clean boost to opamp distortion with a nice volume boost (setting 1 on the Palisades). 2 bandwidth options are also available, Stock for a classic sound (setting 3 on the Palisades) and Full range that adds low-end (setting 5 on the Palisades).
The new Dunes also includes a true bypass footswitch.
The second pedal unveiled at Summer NAMM 2015, the Tentacle is an octaver based on the Hoof Reaper, another effect from Earthquaker Devices. The Tentacle is fully analog and adds an octave up to your guitar signal. Good news for those who have back aches, you won’t have to bend and change settings, for there is no knob on the box.
Last, Earthquaker introduces Interstellar Orbiter, a dual resonant filter that was designed for Kid Koala for his Satellite Concert tour, an original live project during which the audience participated in the show. The pedal can generate very distinct effects, from wah emulation to complex formant vocal filter and rotary speaker.
The Interstellar Orbiter features an LFO that sweeps each filter in opposite directions, a central frequency control for both filter, an LFO rate control and a Direct knob for the dry/wet mix. Each filtered is voiced differently and offers LFO intensity, resonance and mix settings
The Interstellar Orbiter is fully analog, with true bypass and hand made in the USA. The enclosure finish was designed by Kid Koala himself.
