« Sound but not the robustness »
Published on 09/23/11 at 09:26Vox Wah made in China.
Analog
An input jack for guitar
An output jack to the amplifier
Pressing the pedal forward to the switch to enable or disable the effect.
A basic wah!
UTILIZATION
No need for manual ... You just learn to use it wisely and in place ...
SOUND QUALITY
The sound is good, that of a typical 70's wah.
I prefer to that of a Cry Baby, it's just a matter of taste (I find that there is more amplitude in the wah it's more "liquid").
Funk for the love that I practice.
I use a Tele and my 62 Reissue Stratocaster Std US, a real pleasure ... at (the beginning ...
I put enough because after a year and a half of use (a rehearsal / week 2H, home exercise + some concerts) it started to sputter ...
It's not too noticeable in a group (though) but if it's a track record is just unbearable ... (And disappointing.
The sound is good but not robust pedal (and I'm not a brute with the pedals ...)
OVERALL OPINION
I have a JH, tried the Morleys, the Cry Baby, I caught the sound of the Vox, but ... I used one and a half before it starts to sputter and since I only hear it when I play ...
In addition I have added a felt pad for engagement / disengagement is done properly after a year ...
But I like the sound so that I almost buy one.
Apparently I'm not the only one who observed this phenomenon on the Chinese version of this wah, 80 € for one year and a half of fun and frustration I finally abstained.
So I bought another more versatile wah: Wowee Wah G-Lab (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOrUS8iGsT4) which satisfies me for now.
I just broke my piggy bank but this wah is indestructible I think ... (For intensive nothing to say for a year and a half I have).
In addition there is a way to trigger the effect when you set foot on it.
In pieces that alternate wah wah and more or alone when there is the distortion or overdrive off light to return to what tranquility ...
Today (September 2011) I saw lots of Wah Dunlop Jimi Hendrix with a little look "at the Vox 'hood without gloss.
They should try.
Otherwise there is the "top" class at Fulltone for example, but it cost close to € 300 ... for a wah.
I can not find the quality / good price given the potential lifespan of the bike ...
Tell Mr Vox you can not make it last a little longer Wahs your Chinese?
Because the sound, we would like to keep it clean as long as possible even for a little more ...
