The first novelty is the ability to purchase Receptor VIP2 bundled with a PreSonus AudioBox 1818 VSL audio interface.
This new version mainly received hardware improvements and employs a 3.3 GHz dual-core Intel processor, 8 GB of RAM (upgradeable to 16 GB) and 1 TB of 7200 RPM hard drive (with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB SSD options).
The rackable device features MIDI connection, multiple USB ports to connect your keyboards/controllers and 1/4“ line inputs and outputs. Plus, by adding the optional PreSonus AudioBox 1818VSL audio interface, you’ll get 8 analog inputs and outputs (mic and instruments), 8 ADAT I/O and digital S/PDIF stereo for a total 18 inputs and outputs. The Receptor VIP2 supports an audio resolution of 24-bit / 96 kHz.
As always, Muse Research equips its Receptor VIP2 with over $900 of instrument and effect plug-ins, and you can evidently load your own plug-ins, including models from Native Instruments, Synthogy, Rob Papen, Spectrasonics, Toontrack, IK Multimedia and many more.
The Receptor VIP2 will be available early-April. Muse Research announces a price of $1,699 and $2,099 if you add the PreSonus Audiobox 1818VSL audio interface. More info at www.museresearch.com.
