This is a looper pure juice: no effect available. But a single track loops to infinity stereo if necessary. 3:00 Registration, 99 loops storable in the memory of the beast. No SD card but a usb connection type B to clear the memory.
Connection available for various footswitch pedals: one to start or stop the loop for another pass loop loop. There is a double pedal from Boss, which allows for one and the other functions.
You connect a guitar or microphone (it works). An auxiliary input allows you to connect any other stereo equipment: a synth, an mp3 player, a BAR etc ... It can play both.
Also handy metronome whose volume is adjustable and can be deleted as soon as the loop in place. Note also that the overdub function can also be removed if you want samples of "one shot".
Think the 9 volt battery required to keep track of the loops. We Roland: the transformer is sold separately ...

UTILIZATION

I am not a guitarist but RC 3 allows me to quickly produce accompaniment on my keyboards without sequence: MKXL, microSAMPLER or my Wavedrum Mini. The metronome lets you work clean, without lag. The manual is very clear and the interface is so well designed it quickly becomes useless.
I also use the RC as to produce a master tape (not final: we can not solve anything, or equalization or pan ...) It allows to get a general idea /. In short, it is a notepad handy and very portable (but heavy! Any metal, solid!).

SOUND QUALITY

The sound quality is remarkable considering that this is a pedal, not a recorder. After five superposed loops, must recognize that the whole becomes confused ... We dream of a pan function ... short we dream.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a week. I previously used the looper the Kaossilator Pro is detestable not limited to 16 (4 measures) but who has the grace to provide four tracks. RC 3 has a track loop but can last up to three hours ... In short, the two complement each other perfectly.
ATTENTION! The problem reported for the RC 30 RC is valid for 3: when you pass from one loop to the other, in manual mode, there is a latency of less than a second, but slow enough to be heard, it's been a hole in the web. So do not expect to build an entire song with alternating verse-chorus with RC alone. I bypasses the difficulty in integrating my RC 3 loops in AUDACITY.
The device has become expensive (40 euros more than nine in two years, without pedals or the transformer) but the competition does not offer memory or to store computer link. This is what makes the RC 3 unsurpassable.
