Value For Money : Excellent
Audience: Beginners
Nice guitar shape inspired by Les Paul, made in Korea (South).
24 boxes (memory), a set neck mahogany body with no pickguard and no table of the same wood.
Mécanqiues Grover mud bath (or oil), bridge type Tune-O-Matic as Gibson.

Two large double bobs assets designer EMG, reference 81 and 85. After, find out which is which is at the top and bottom ... see on the site of ESP. Anyway if you want to swap, pani problem: * Series 8 EMG feature a connection by plug.

Two volumes, one tone and a 3 position switch. Classic, we do not change a winning team.

Given the characteristics and good standards, proper note: 7 / 10

UTILIZATION

I had apprehensions unfounded and that proved very wrong on the handle of the dugout. I, too, like a fool ignorant I thought the handle would be typed Gibson LP, although how big Yule log. Bah that tile: it is damn good, super playable and fast. Big plus point: it is painted with a good varnish. Note that I am not fanatic varnish sleeves, by the way ... but this zero problem, but happiness.

The access to acute is not bad, considering the LP form. It does not flow as well as on a highway or an Ibanez V-Factor but not bad anyway. To take a shortcut though moron "ESP / LTD done for metalheads."
I warned you, it's a shortcut idiot. But in this case it is able to vien some fast riffs.

The weight is therefore a guarantee of sustain and durability. However, if I remember correctly, the body and the neck are nato wood, a mahogany family, which justifies its use of a hand here and also the significant mass of the beast. If you have not understood the previous sentence, it does not matter: just remember that it is moderately heavy and well balanced. We have seen better and worse too.

As for sound, load to be objective, not bad. Amplified, with or without effects etc ... is based on your gear. But in general it is accurate and not as cold as I would have thought. Myths that die hard, so I thought that sounded strong and active EMG cold. Eh bah nay!
On a combo plate and cold, it will be cold. But every little amp a little hot and good quality will make it breathe. Even the ugly POD XT known chemical can agree with it ... do not expect too much either, it's not a "pure light".

Important points:
- Well damn
- Solid
- Fairly simple (which all black!)
- Good sound to sustain a vacuum with honorable
- Pèchus microphones (not more than Duncans or DM)
- Good range of its

Given its price, a nice 8 / 10 is justified.

SOUNDS

I play everything, and often the metal industrial or more "classic".
In the red bean XT, it sounds good. If you are a number of Metallica fans, you will have a sound similar to Master of Puppets with the appropriate simulation. As a group, it is quite credible.

For rock, pop and a little jazz, no problem again. Violin making serious and equipment in good facure are able to confidently tackle all partoches, as long as you do not have to play vibrato, what it lacks. If you have any inclination to play the rod, direct you to his sister the MH-400.

It sounds well, clean and crunch as it screams easily saturated.
If you have the ability, you link with Gilmour Hammett fingers in the nose.
But try the handle, it will only be easier!

Go, I admit my preference for the "big sound work" ...

A good 9 / 10 really justified for sound.

OVERALL OPINION

Initially I am primarily a bassist. If you have selected the above paragraphs you will deduce that the "big wide sleeves and" on the guitar almost make me smile. I have some experience recording in home studio (see me like a pro, I'm an amateur) and therefore investment instruments in the spectrum. From this point of view, I can tell you that the EC-400 is placed very well in a mix with bass, drums and more.

It is a good guitar, especially an opportunity for quality / price ratio amazing.
A very good guitar for confirmed a investissment profitable for beginners and finally a perfect backup for pros who do not want to go on stage with a 100% ESP Eclipse.

Oeuil small blink of the detractors of ESP and LTD:
Having played some time on a ESP Horizon Custom, I confess to being amazed by the quality of the EC-400. Of course it reaches not the perfection of the violin ESP Japan, the woods are less high-end and the finish is more common. But the series of 400 LTD is a good investment. I take this opportunity to compare the hurry of the microphone Horizon Custom (Duncan) with those of the EC-400. We feel a real difference in the grain, the roundness is very present on SH4 and TB of the Horizon with an accuracy less clear that the EMG of the EC-400. Both have their interests. I think they are complementary in a group of musicians, the Duncans will be significant on a solid low-fat and perfect for the EMG rhythm and sharp solos. It is only my opinion, of course.
What to prove to skeptics that the ESP and LTD are not just for metalheads of guitars!

The EC-400 looks good, it is elegant and well made. Given the price displayed (in nine 700 euros) it is even a very good price / quality ratio.
It reacts very well to various attacks and feel, making it a model of adaptability. The term flexibility is so overused that I prefer to avoid it, although it would be very appropriate here.

Beautiful and good guitar. I thank the Lord Lonewolf pass for his advice.
