NTi Audio is extending the functionality of the Flexus Audio Analyzer by adding a digital audio interface option.

It features AES3, AES3id, S/PDIF and TosLink functionality.

It integrates into the modular concept of the Flexus analyzer providing two digital inputs to the FX100 analyzer, as well as two outputs from the FX100's digital signal generator; with standard sampling rates up to 192 kHz and external synchronization feature. Together, a standard FX100 and  the FX-AES module form the FX100-D.

The AES3 interface extension adds two digital analyzer inputs and two digital signal generator outputs, allowing testing digital audio equipment.

The signal source may run either referenced to its own oscillator or synchronized to a range of external clock references such as AES3 house clock, PAL/NTSC video clock or to the AES3 analyzer input sample rate.

The digital interface and the standard two channel FX100 audio generator and analyzer operate together within the FX-Control software environment, which is designed to offer all meaningful measurements across the analog or digital domain, supporting various cross-domain measurements such as A/A, A/D, D/A and D/D with the standard analyzer only. If desired, by adding a two channel analog extension, the Flexus analyzer can also perform measurements with the two additional analog channels operating in parallel to the digital domain measurements if such simultaneous dual domain operation is required or desired.

The sampling rate of the digital Generator can be set to any frequency between 28 kHz and 210 kHz. On the analyzer, fs is measured at the AES3 inputs and the sync input in parallel. Input and Output can be set to appropriate impedance interface settings, based on the chosen interface. Carrier and sync signal status, are constantly monitored. The channel status of the AES3 audio signal can be set and measured. The same applies for the resolution of the audio signal.
