1 Having trouble charging up my mic...
Hi everyone, I just purchased a CAD e300 condenser mic, and it runs on a combination of 9-volt batteries and phantom power. The phantom power is responsible for trickle-charging the batteries, and the batteries power the actual mic. As long as the mic is plugged into a phantom power source, the batteries should stay fully charged, however they do need an initial charging once the mic comes out of the box.

So, in order to charge the mic, it needs to be plugged into a phantom supply for 12-14 hours with the mic powered off. I've had the mic plugged into my MR-8 digital multitracker (with phantom power supplied to the xlr inputs) for the past two days, and the mic still isn't working. Do you think this is a defect in the microphone? Or does phantom power on mixing boards not kick in unless the mic is turned on?

Thanks,
Ben
