Hi. Why won't the headset mic (with the stereo mini-jack) that I plug into my sound card work in my stand-alone 4 track recorder? I have an adaptor that I can plug it into and then plug the adaptor into the phono plug for the mic on my 4 track. If I turn the gain up all the way i can barely hear my voice above the static. I don't have any problem recording to Cakewalk home studio and getting a good strong clear sound. My wife says she can't tell if I'm singing live or if she is hearing a playback. What else should you want a mic to do? Therefore I don't see any need for spending a bunch of money on a mic. thanks for any help.
