Bought at Guitar Center for $1189 sometime July 2001.

Sounded great for a while. Real nice clean sounds, (Fender amp presets good) especially with a Strat. Effects good, easy to use (could do with a few more knobs rather than buttons). Bought it to record using a hard disk computer system, so the midi capability and the S/PDIF out were necessary. I also liked the idea of being able to mic it up and blend the two sounds. Things were goin' great until...

it crapped out..turned it on one day and it sounded like s***. Spent two weeks in an authorized repair shop, they were clueless, wasted my time. Guitar Center kindly gave me a new one. The new one, right out of the box, was also s***. Fought like hell and GC kindly gave me my money back (they hate me now). Sound with humbucker pups not great either

Build quality is not good in my opinion.
Already knew about valve rattle problems etc., since found out a lot were shipped with faulty chips. By the way, the tubes are NOT considered user replaceable by Fender....gotta take it to a shop and pay big bucks to replace them if you want to keep the warranty up.

I got a Digitech 2120 to replace it and the D/tech blows it away as far as rock with h/buckers. I'm glad it's gone. Won't buy Fender electronics again.
