Let me first start by saying I'm not a fan of amp modelers. Most of them are really weak and completely unnatural. Most that I have played or heard, have been extremely sub par. This one is no exception.

The first few channels are fairly clean channels and then it goes up to the standard Vox tones and then as you turn the dial you get heavier and heavier. Some gems in between but for the most part it has a couple good sounds, but this is a pass amp.

SOUNDS

This is one of the most odd amps I have ever come across. First off this is a hybrid amp which means it uses tubes but it doesn't use all the tubes like a tube amp would. This amp has no preamp tubes however, it has a preamp tube in the power tube section. I have never seen this operation before. I'm not an amp engineer but that just seems out of place to me.

Anyway, the first few channel or amp models are very blah. Once you hit the Vox section it starts to sound better. Then is begins to get really distorted and metal tones. These are pretty good but the US Metal is horrible! The other metal or rock tones are pretty decent, but this particular one is just a pass for me tone wise.

OVERALL OPINION

For me this is a must pass amp. I don't find enough tones that are usable for me. The cleans are not up to par and the the tone overall is not that good. This preamp in the power section is really a weird operation to me.

At new these units come in at around $$240 which isn't a bad price, but I think VOx has a couple other amp modeler amps that sound better. For the Peavey amp modeler for $100 has far better tones and usability than this amp. I wouldn't recommend this amp to anyone because it just doesn't sound that great.

x 3 banks Amp (Standard-Special-Custom) = 99 modeling amp! (I said ninety nine!)
And just for fun, there is the option "manual" which reduces it to an amp which is therefore normal 100! (But this is just the beginning, since everything is customizable to leisure and saved in the 2 x 4 banks personal sound.
Should I add effects "pedal" (11)? the reverb? the delay's?, noise gate? ... is a book it would take to describe it, like Oxford, and gourmet and more.

One thing is still essential, essential if one wishes to operate the aircraft best possible way: The record! (I take this opportunity to thank the feathers in my cap sweep the floor, Mr. porschica, who was kind enough to scan me hers, as mine was in Germain (purchased from MusicStore)



UTILIZATION

Yes and no. The setup is deceptively simple, but a lot of subtleties are intuitive after reading this leaflet.
We immediately obtain an extraordinary sound, and then starts to get his sound.
The manual, when we are lucky to have him in his language is very clear, especially essential for access to higher grades.

SOUNDS

It is suitable for all styles of music, without exceptions. Even without getting into it thanks to the manual, everything is possible, and we learn (slowly) by groping. Nothing complicated, however, but we win a lot of time to know which button to press.

All sounds are accessible. I play it with the "acoustic appliances (no feedback through the 12AX7 preamp + sound is worthy of my amps provided for these guitars (Laney), with gutares Jazz résonnator with a semi-acoustic, and ... the main Fender Stratocaster VG (modeling) and finding EVERYTHING works perfectly. The sin, the answer, the silhouette of each guitar is respected, and I would even say "revealed".

I'm in the register of "severe blues" or "soft rock" in a group of angry and grumpy older degenerate. Well they look at me now, thanks to the amp as if I was dating I pretty 11 years my junior. They are envious! I guess.


OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 weeks now.
So far, I played live on a "Line 6 Spider II-212" Modelling and pechu enough, but the "master" is hardly controllable). I also Laney, Peavey's, fender, marshall and, except for the Peavey 300 (cone of 18 "8 is war!) We must recognize that they are all beaten by VOX.
I should mention that I fell in love with the famous VOX AD15VT which I use in apartments, but has only two channels.

What I like most: I bought the pedal VFS5 (simplicity itself: five buttons, which programmed sounds beforehand). The amp has 2x4 = 8 sounds you program / save yourself. This means that you have no less than 8 pedals! (One begins with five feet across). So these effects pedals are no longer necessary (and so I sell them).
What I like least:

1-Can not find user manual in French for download on the site VOX (only Briton, or Yank) As purchased in Germany, the instructions provided in germain is, of course. (Thank you again for helping to porschica)

Output 2-line phones cut-out of HP's amp, so ... by resuming his microphone to a table and ...

3 .- not possible to attach (bind) the microphone to the amplifier via the front grille (which I did with the AD15VT. So you need a microphone stand.

With the experience I would do the same choice without hesitation. Although interested in his VT80 + 12 "I am delighted to have opted for the VT40 +, lighter and above all its size almost equivalent to AD15VT. And the HP 10" really has nothing to envy the 12 "( I had secretly tried in a store where I did not buy)

UTILIZATION

the manual is very clear, illustrated and useful just for little more than the amp because it is easy to use. (You still have to read it)
the sound is magnificent while the simulation recreates a few audio amps modeled.
the effects of the amp are simple but this is not the primary aim of this amp which is far superior sound quality.


SOUNDS

it is suitable for all styles of music and I play it with a les paul and a Start yds eruption and the amp respects their respective sound.
the reverb, delay and chorus are just wonderful for me.
distortions are beautiful and perfect fuzz
the amp is simple compared to the possibility of effects settings of a multi-effects pedal similar price but excels in sound is just perfect.
then a multi effects pedal on it would make a perfect and more analog.
small defect, there are only 8 memories in a 2-bank enough but we would have liked a little more.


OVERALL OPINION

I will soon look at the peavey 30w vypyr So I will publish my comments but for the moment, again, I would buy it back.
The price-quality ratio is excellent except for one thing, release and grafted mp3 a little sore narrow.
otherwise the look is too beautiful, reasonable weight.

I would say in summary that this amp is for those who do not like wasting time with endless effects settings but being quite versatile and hotter than a transistor amp clean.

Hybrid transistor amp with a lamp to give a warmer sound!
Connectors complete enough for my taste (Aux in, and a Phone jack for connecting a footswitch Vox!)
The amp is called Vox VT40 + but not up to 60W!
Full of all settings, effect, preset, etc. ... Very complete!

Usage is simple enough, but if you really do get there, the manual is extremely thorough and detailed (illustré. ...)

Do you get a good sound easy? : Anyone who says no is a liar! We choose an amp model, and some effect is in the box! = D

SOUNDS

In my opinion it is suitable for all types of music, there is an amp for every style!
The sound is warm and clear, simply choose an amp model and / or effects of Disto and easily obtained a sound!
I play with a Les Pauls ESP LTD and a Squier Stratocaster and the sound that comes out is just beautiful!

since Christmas! Even if I do not play on this amp for a long time, I'm already falling in love! Everything is good in the Vox VT40 +!
The price / quality ratio is just huge! For € 215 sounds as beautiful?!
It's almost a dream!
With the experience I would do is choose at least 10,000 times!

UTILIZATION

The configuration is fairly simple. It should still read the small manual to know all the tricks and feints. My old amp for home (Line 6 Spider III 30W) is simpler, but it is difficult to compare these two amps.
With the presets, it is easy sounds interesting. You can change them at will and save the banks.
I have not really tried to create my own sound without using an existing sound. is possible but it seems a bit tedious at first.
Too bad there is not a small display to display the name of the sound being used. Please take the list in the manual to know which one it is.

SOUNDS

I play a PRS SE single cut.
The cleans sounds are just incredible. This is probably due to the lamp. It sounds very warm compared to my old amp.
The distos are good. I do not like them all but there are really that worthwhile.
For now I have not tried to play with effects on the amp. For the moment I have not had any use for the effects included are very good.


OVERALL OPINION

I for 5 days and I am very satisfied. I took it to the final again to see if it was enough for small gigs. I planted on our sound system and frankly it tears. It is small and light but it really in the belly.
Unfortunately I have no footswitch to enjoy as a group. So I ordered it and I should receive it very soon. I am delighted.

I used for some days and I just do not understand why I have no choice not to try several models before jai of hybrid amp as well as lamp and transistor but my choice for this very fast ETET vox EXCELLENT value for money for such an amp and it has refelchir if I had the choice again I would do without hesitation and I recommend it to anyone who desires versatility
