This processor is a stereo equalizer parametric type tubes. The two channels are exactly identical. The connectivity though simple (one XLR input and one output per channel), comes with a stereo channel insert therefore, unbalanced.
An inverter is used to select the high input / output insertion between-10dB and +4 dBm.
In front we have no less than 8 sections inland. The input level is adjustable over a range of 40dB (-20 to +20 dB) and the corresponding potentiometer is surmounted by a bar graph summary of five LEDs.
This EQ has no less than six sections of filtering through channels, each can be independently-off function, in my opinion this is an important asset when adjusting the tone of a modulation to tune and easely make the effect of each section and worked on the sound.
The 1961 is equipped with a high-pass filter input and a low pass output.

UTILIZATION

Simplicime ..

SOUND QUALITY

The 1961 is an excellent parametric equalizer at the outset but in addition, it is tube, which does not spoil anything, quite the contrary. The tubes are understood in the circuits, and it's a good idea to have, in addition to the four buffers in the EQ section, to have added a pair of dual triode for power output.

OVERALL OPINION

Is on this kind of machine that you realize that hybrid technology has completely defensible arguments, and very interesting. The result is very convincing and very musical .. Please note, however, not to saturate the circuit overloads, musicality find it very diminished ..
