The Pignose is built for blues and rock style that I like.
For the funk better turn down the volume of the amp and guitar but does it well.
Attention to the volume of the guitar if your pickups are pchus, a "crunch" as fast and can be rough in the clear. RULES guitar, it's exploded in the clear and crunch.
Be careful if you do not use batteries, the choice of the transformer is important. 9V adapter with some I found a "buzz" going unbearable!
I love the clear sound and crunch, but I'm a fan of less fuzz.
I have not even wanted to try my TS808 Reissue in between.
The bass response is appropriate given the size of HP (5 ")
Do not forget that the guitar and especially your fingers do the sound and even + with this amp that has a volume knob.
FYI, I play a Telecaster Reissue 62 (Japan) and a Gibson ES-335 (Reissue Humbucker 57).

I love the sound, the size (go anywhere) and the design of this amp.

It is a 5 watt amp transistors, size "mini amp." It has the characteristic split in two to store the jack inside (there is even a small hook to not he walk). You can also play the sound that way.

In short, this amp lacks everything we usually consider as essential to an amp ... but his concept, so I can put him as 10. Ok, 9 for adapter not included.

UTILIZATION

Nothing dramatic but sometimes annoying.

Squier Telecaster Custom with my P90 and the sound is excellent, very Blues-Rock and dynamic. Requires only the clear favorite to become dirty mediator at will, and the crunch is very much alive and "rough". At bottom, the sound becomes downright fuzzy grain without losing the characteristic of the amplifier. With my ES 335 copy on the other hand is less well: its humbuckers, yet very powerful, give one side a very "thick" (it&#39;s not clear, but I do not know how to explain it better) at sound, which does not please me too. We should try with higher-end mics, but it seems that in general, the double is not the cup of tea of ​​this amp.

On the other hand, the receiver accepts pedals very well, especially the overdrive.

The only flaw in her is that the 5 watts are powerful enough, sometimes too much for my liking: in the absence of a master, you can not enjoy the crunch at low volume. It&#39;s still very usable in the apartment, but not with someone who does something else beside.

In fact, this "default" (which is not one for everyone) recalls, if necessary, that this amp is NOT a mini-amp travel or exercise as one might expect given its Lilliputian size. This is a REAL amp, with a grain very special and excellent sound quality. It can also be heard on many albums, from Led Zeppelin to Frank Zappa!

I therefore put him 10: he can not do everything, but what he does, no other amp does both.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for several months, in addition to my main amp (Vox AD30VT). I&#39;m very happy: the grain is inimitable, and have fun as a little crazy to explore different combinations Pignose volume / knob on the guitar. on the other hand, in my 20m ², it is only when my girlfriend is not there, or else with a pedal, otherwise it quickly becomes dull ...

Again, do not mistake, the Pignose amp is a real, albeit very simple construction but with an excellent and unique, which is comparable to some tube amps. It is not suitable for all styles (metal is completely excluded) or all ears (his side "rough" is not obliged to please) but what he does, he does it perfectly.

The only major flaw of this amp is its price new, still a bit abused for what remains a small amp, certainly excellent but few of us will use as the main amp. On some sites it is found to almost € 140! It was a time available at 50 € a German mail-order site, but alas, it&#39;s over ... Remains an opportunity that allowed me to touch € 30. For that price, I would do this choice without hesitation!

There are a tone of thing that are nostalgic about rock n roll. Some times it the clothes the light or even the sounds. The sounds you hear from old vinyl recordings from the 60's and 70's. One of those sound is the Pignose 7 100. This amp has been on countless recordings from the 70's all the way up until today.

This little box is not only unique in tone but also in the way it looks. It looks like a mix between a suitcase and a lunch box. Then it has this funny volume knob that is in the shape of a pig nose. That is all this thing has to it beside opening up the box to have this airy sound. The box is actually a fuzz unit more like a distortion pedal than anything. It just so happens to have a speaker attached to it. Interesting to say the least.

Like I said before this is a fuzz pedal with a speaker attached to the unit. Don't be fooled into thinking this is only for distortion. If you simply roll back your guitar's volume and roll down the volume of the amp and switch over to the neck pickup and get a sweet clean tone.

I like this amp with any guitar. This amp is such a classic amp for rock n roll that it makes it a must own. Play this amp with whatever you like It sounds good in the recording studio as well.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a legendary amp for sure. These units come in new at around $80 which is a great price. The tone from this thing is remarkable and nothing on the market is anything like it.

I recommend every single guitar player in the world to own one of these amps. They are fun and can add a whole lot of tone to some of your recordings. It is hard to replicate or even recreate this tone in any other application.

I've had a week and it's a pleasure to play with.

I tried a few other amp ever more sophisticated (VOX DA5-particular) ... it's not quite the same use, this amp is an amp trip but a class above the rest and it may well be your only amp (that you connect to the mixer via the output pre-amp when playing group)

Purchased second-hand for 50 euros, I only regret not having thought of earlier.

Having just reviewed a really bad portable amp, I feel compelled to give kudos to a product that figured it out. The Pignose 7-100 is a portable guitar amp. It is powered by 6 AA batteries, or the optional AC adaptor. There is one 1/4" input and a pre-amp out jack, which can be useful in some recording and stage sessions (by running the pre-amp out signal to the PA, or to a DAW via the console. There is a knob for volume only, but trust me, the tone is solid. The amp has 5 watts of power.

UTILIZATION

This is simply used for practicing for the vast majority of its users. In this case, the amp is one of the easiest ones to use that I've seen. The manual is pretty uncessary overall. You can attach a guitar strap to it to carry it around your neck, which is really sweet if you are carrying your guitar in your hand and want a free hand. The pre-amp out jack is cool, I don't use it much but I know that some people have gotten great studio sounds with it. I think that's

Don't look at the 5-star score and assume this thing sounds amazing. It doesn't. It's just that for a portable five watt amp, you can really not do better. I'm convinced to this day that there isn't a better sounding amp that you can wear around your neck. The volume knob will adjust gain to a necessary degree. I like all the sounds equally. This is a practice amp that will actually make you sound good when you practice, which is a surprising rarity once you reach a certain level of playing. There really is no control of the EQ, so asking about the frequency curve is somewhat difficult to answer. I would say that they are pretty neutral in that they don't ever favor one end of the spectrum over the other.

OVERALL OPINION

I don't really have much to say other than this is a pretty cool device. I'd say that overall, this is worth it for whoever would benefit from having a quiet amplifier that's easy to carry around. The sound is better than anything you'll find in amps this size, and even a few sizes bigger to be honest. Highly recommended.
