Value For Money : Excellent
Tested initially on loan for a few nights, outside inside, DJ or small band PA, 4 made in Italy. I usually use JBL MP412 and a pair of RCF ART 310. The Mackie is very easy to use on small field and sound good. Good performance, sharp a little dry and a little short in the extreme treble. Very common in acute medium, low for a very respectable 30 cm. I like this: Compared to my and my JBL RCF, it allowed me to settle quickly on small sound systems without needing a subwoofer. They sound good in small and medium-range field (if you're pressed for time to settle, you plug the microphones and the table, we leave everything to zero and it sounds forth without equalization ...). They can achieve interesting levels for proper sound quality. They work well with all the boxes or RCF Mackie (especially with SRS 1500), higher only when a range is requested. I have used in comparing a pair of RCF ART 325A, they are very close in power and sound quality, even for low (despite the 38 cm of the FCR). In return they are also good but the use of an equalizer is necessary to make them warm. DJ in use for a small audience til about 100 people, as it is far from using the full power, we can put some bass without fear of saturation and give a good sound (at full capacity and with the same treatment, I think it will be more careful) To know the pros who use them often and in numbers, I can say that the components are solid, electronics is doing its job and protects Hps (good electronic and thermal protection). Uncommon to have grilled boomers unless intensive use of broadband and tweeters grilled in fault conditions (Larsen supported). Electronic failures are rare (subject to the new Made in China ...), which reassures when buying secondhand. As a positive quality and convenience of acessories Mackie (covers, trolley). Carrying handles are good and the controls and connections protected. Easy to use in any case for who knows how to use an equalizer (I think this opinion is shared by two opinions below). You just have to know them a little and adjust the settings. What I dislike: Empillage périeux Installation, stability. Brittle plastics (they mark easily, covers almost indispensable for transport, attention to the radiators to the artery), it is better to provide a piece of carpet if used in return. The sound is less precise and accurate than my JBL sound system in front (I've also compared with 4726 old, my JBL are better). They are more dificiles to master in proximity or in return ... If used at full capacity, we must listen and adjust the setting of acute medium according to the distance and add a bit extreme treble (that's my taste anyway). Radiators are too exposed to the rear. They are also a bit heavy for the template.
Exellent value for money used. These are often good deals (especially made in Italy at its best and most reliable electronic). Still, boomers are absolutely a controller (state of the suspensions) when buying (or price change remembrannage Hp expensive ...). The use of broadband high power can cause premature wear.
The price performance ratio is a lot of common uses for a budjet of 600/700Euros ... I can not really tell you about the new one (from my experience) but the new series are being done in their small reputation. The current models made in China seem to close in sound quality but a tone below the made in Italy (same basic qualities and faults). I have not listened to the new V series against whom we spoke well.
Very interesting experience because I was entrusted them for a while, and I had time to test them extensively and in various places. They are surprisingly dynamic and their sound quality especially for voice. Buy? That's it I found two pairs of opportunity (one in France and Italy) since I submitted my first review in 2009 and I'm really not disappointed.
