«  Good Harware - lack of outputs as standard. »

Published on 03/08/12 at 11:33
Best value: Excellent
64 polyphony. Efffets optional. From 16 to 24 bits and 44.1 to 96 Khz. Converter neutral to the S5000 I had before. 16 MB of standard memory up to 512 MB 2 Jack inputs, 2 outputs Jack Midi, USB. SCSI. Non-detachable front panel.
PC and Mac Edition (Aksys).

UTILIZATION

General configuration and editing sounds, programs, ... relatively simple and of course, simplified grandemment on the computer thanks to the editor (we have everything on the screen).
The manual is clear, but I was already accustomed to the S5000.

SOUNDS

The converters are transparent. More than the S5000. Very good dynamic. Filters are effective. The effects are options. The possibility to read a lot of format sound banks, make a sampler of choice. What find happiness. I could keep all my sound banks of my S5000.

OVERALL OPINION

I had the S5000 before and dynamics is much higher. The screen is smaller than the S5000, so the programming is more difficult without a computer. The screen was the big addition to the S5000.
The price / quality ratio is good for the hardware. Possibility of a hard drive without any difficulty compared to the S5000 yet, or have a record worthy of the name was poor (SCSI complicated). You can retrieve any IDE hard drive, it will work perfectly. I have tried several without any problems. and loads are faster as well.
Hardware for the Z4 is powerful. We regret the lack of original outputs (2). Too many options that goes up the price of the device.
In occassion, it is the perfect partner for electronic drums. Especially for the price.
