I will not have much to say again that everything I read on previous opinions.
Among the Samplers / Workstations that have marked their time, the ASR-10 is probably the one that was appreciated by the musicians. He had a sound library (which could stall in ROM) regardless of the RAM, already function upload a sample or a bank with the ignition, the most comprehensive compatibility with SCSI hard drives of the time and above all, unparalleled ergonomics while on versions Keyboards (we agree).
Who made Samplers Keyboards at the time? With E-mu Emax and EmaxII, Dynacord, Kurzweil K2000 with the, with the Casio FZ-1 ... The K2500 was about to go out and put all the professionals agree. But the price delta between an ASR-10 and K2500 gave pride to the RAS.
Even Michel R., producer and husband of Eve Angeli, using three at the same time in 1995. I hope he will forgive me for having appointed. Michael if you read me! ..
UTILIZATION
Happiness. Nothing to add with all that was said.
SOUNDS
Brass and Drums rarely equaled. Found elsewhere in the ZR76 ROM.
OVERALL OPINION
I always liked this machine. I had one. What has always fascinated me is how the musicians could accumulate ASR10 ASR er-Rack, while many others Samplers existed at the time. In fact from 1990 to 1995 there were two schools. The AKAIens and ENSONIQiens. Although it sold many of Emax and EmaxII Paris (cuckoo CMDM and Francis M.) but it was more a nostalgic relationship with EmulatorII or III to the peculiarity of the Emax, although supplanted the market dynamics, but not in sound quality.
It was on the point that ASR-10 has built its reputation.
Subtlety and dynamics.
You forgive me for dessert ...
