Excellent
* Gibson USA manufactured in Nashville, mine is 2007 or 2008 I forget, and it is WORN YELLOW!
* Equipped with basic microphone 490 and R 490 T
* 2 volume knobs, 2 tone
* Tune-o-matic Classic
Note that the guitar does not have a thick varnish, allowing better vibration of the wood, and "choking" the less sound, although many will find it less aesthetic and more hits mark (mine already has a part of the painting that has crossed the finish suddenly it gives a little "relic" but the natural ^ ^)
I put a good score because we feel the seriousness of Gibson, even on a "low end" (for them, for me it's the best I have for now ^ ^) there is a concern detail. Nickel frets, inlaid markers well. The manufacturing quality is there, even if it's a guitar very "roots"!
* For cons I do not like the mechanical "tulip" base, so I've changed for Grover.
UTILIZATION
* The comfort of the handle is very good, perfect for my big hands lol, but I agree that AC may not be suitable for everyone, this is not an Ibanez neck!
* Good ergonomics, because even if the guitar stings a little nose, it is relatively lightly!
* Access to acute standards for SG, ie fairly or very good!
The varnish "satin" light, is very pleasant to the touch.
SOUNDS
For sounds, I really do not know how to record because I have very quickly changed tes 490 mics that suited me NOT AT ALL, I found drafts, pêchus enough, sharp enough, it did not brief and I was very disappointed.
I replaced them with Gibson P94 (bridge and neck) and ca there was the miracle! All my "sound problems" were resolved. Punch, clarity, crystal clear sound, great crunch, many serious, a real success!
I play funk with all the womanizing, heavy riffs that rock / metal!
Without notes, "because with the micro base, I would put 3 or 4 and after change, I would put 9 or 10!
OVERALL OPINION
* I use it for several years now (4 or 5) and it is currently (in 2012) still my main guitar!
Both on stage and in the studio, I am delighted to its sounds, and with all types of amps really, I found "my sound" every time.
* I have not tried other models before buying it because I bought it on eBay, I flashed on the color (and yes ... ^ ^)
* The feature that I love most: THE SOUND! Really, I find it hard to play on other guitars behind, especially since I've customized a lot (P94 pickups Grover + + + changes knobs personal trussrod cover).
* The feature that I like least: The holding of approximate agreement, oddly I have to re-tune often enough, maybe AC can be set at a luthier? Never tested.
* Value for money: SUPER! That you ca be used as a second guitar, basic customization, or even as is, you've got a great guitar for quite cheap now (mostly secondhand), with a radical look and finish roots!
I think this is one of the best sales at Gibson and it's not for nothing!
