Amethyst is announced as a collection of multiple sections, with switchable preamps, filter, EQ and compressor.
The EQ is based on a modeling of an Acustica homebrew equalizer, recreating the curves sampled from a hardware unit built exclusively by Acustica and based on the circuit diagrams of vintage device. The Filter and EQ stages are said to be virtually identical with those of the hardware, and the traditional EQ curves are steep-sided. The Preamp section is characterized by a several choices of preamps, each one with different tonal features. As for the compressor, it is said to be characterized by a classic design, performance and reliability.
An alternative skin system was also implemented, reproducing the design of each module of the plugin.
Announced at a full price of €99 (which is already on the affordable side by Acustica Audio’s standard), Amethyst is currently available for pre-sale at €89.10, that is 10% off. More details and a demo version are already available at Acustica Audio’s website.
