Cool Edit 2.0 vs. Pro Tools

Ok, so it's been 4 months and I still prefer Cool Edit over Pro Tools. I have a AudioTechnia mic that I use for Pro-Tools, but I want to figure a way to use it with Cool Edit. I'm guessing I have to buy a mixing board. It's just for recording songs (instrumental & vocal), as well as vocal drops for my mixtapes. Thanks.

you can use it on protools, but you can't on cool edit?

mics are not "software-sensitive".
