I'm thinking about buying this module. It's basically been discontinued (for whatever reason) but it's still easy enough to find. Does anyone have any opinions on this rack one way or another? I use an older Korg module now and I still like it, but it's time I at least step into the new millinium soundwise. I figure I can save a few bucks and still get a quality batch of sounds without paying Motif or Fantom money...

A few general questions...

Can you add newer sounds to it?

How are the bass patches in it? (I want that smooth but heavy R&B bass that you hear all over the place)

Are the sounds dated already? I see that it was still in production in 2000, so I image the sounds that were industry standard back then should still be pretty relavent.

Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

What do you mean by expandable boards? Does that mean you can add sounds to the stock soundbank? If so, do they even still make patches that are compatible with it? I'm asking because not a single online music store carries the darn thing.

I've seen it on Ebay in the past few weeks for $600-$800.
