Thread WAV file always too soft

Hey guys,

I'm just kick starting my home studio, bought some new equipment, and having some NEWBIE problems.

I own a Yamaha AW1600 mixer. Whenever I transfer the file through USB to my computer, the file always sounds a lot softer on the computer (i.e. I have to blast my speakers to hear it). I currently don't own any software like Cubase, though I will buy one soon. What's the quickest fix for my problem?
