Hi, i am a young teenager, but i am ready and extremely interested in home recording. I want to save up some cash so i can get some decent recording gear, but i dont know how everything works.
I have an apple computer so i know that is what i need first of all.
I am looking at the tascam fw-1082. I think this is the type of thing that i need as far as the recording goes, now what do i need to connect this to the computer?
This is all new to me, ive used digital workstations, but nothing with computers. so if you guys could help me, that would be great!

the tascam fw1082 is cool, it connects through firewire and comes with Cubase LE. That should get you started, although the fw1082 is a nice piece of equipment, you don't have to spend that much. A tascam US428 or 224 will work fine too. The fw1082 has the advantage of motorized fadars, higher quality A/D converter and more inputs. So other than that you need some mic cables, some mics...
oh yeah, try www.tweakheadz.com for the noob lessons. that is more that helpful.
