I'm using Cool Edit Pro 2.1 also.
I have a (possibly simple) problem.
When I record my guitar on a track there is a fade in each time I stop and start playing on the same track. It's as if the guitar is gradually being turned up then will stay at full volume till I stop again and then when I play, increase gradually again.
Any one know how to stop this?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a problem with Cool Edit.. well actually it might not be Cool Edit.. but when i record there are red lines across the middle of both of the speakers in multitrack.. and when i amplify things it doesnt amplify evenly and the bottom half just cuts out because it is amplified out of the screen.. is this my mic or what?
