I'm a newbie to this. What's a DAT recorder?
Is this the best metthod for mixing down from a digital recorder?

DAT stands for Digital Audio Tape and its about the size of those Hi-8 camcorder tapes (remember those?).
It's not a very common format for mixing down to; but at least it records at 44.1 and 48 khz without compression. AFAIK, cd's are the more ubiquitous mixdown medium.
