1 First time directly recording into my computer...
What's up? I've been recording and making beats for years. We would use our Roland 1824, but we want to directly go into the computer now. So I have a nice p4 computer and a AKG mic, m-audio delta1010lt sound card. I just bought a Tube amp MP Studio V3. I also have some event Speakers. I want to make sure i'm connecting evrything correctly. Right now I have the mic XLR input going into the input of the preamp then i'm coming out from the 1/4 outputs and putting that into an input on my sound card which is RCA. I'm also using cubase and 1 issue i'm having is that I can't hear my voice through my headphones and I can't lower the beat through cubase, so you can't hear it through my speakers. Do i just lower the back of the speakers level I thought there might be a different way within the program. I just want to make sure I have everything connected the way i should.

thanks if anyone could help...
