How to fit sample with drums?

I want to make a remix.
I have a theme tune which i want to fit with drums.
How would i go about doing this properly???
Bit frustrated!
I listened to a remix where the theme fits the beat perfectly.
But every time i try and do it, it just doesn't sound right...
Please help!

You have to first figure out at what bpm (tempo) your theme is in. Is it indicated anywhere on the theme file? if not you'll have to count it with a metronome and then lock the beat in with it.

Also if your playback source is an mp3 and not intended to be looped then they have a tendency to have silence at the beginning and ends. So be sure to set beginning and end markers.
