Hello, I've been asked for my college course to recreate a recording technique. I proposed I try and recreate the drum sound of the cure track 'cold'. any help/ tips/ exactly how to do it would be wonderful!
Also, if you like, post any recording techniques you think have been essentail to the building of certain genres, vital to a bands sound.
Thanks for looking.

I'm not sure I'm familiar with that song exactly, but in general the Cure have pretty similar sounding drums all the way around...Generally they sound very 80's with a good amount of reverb...I'd recommend also blending real drums with sampled drums for that kind of thing...It can be hard to recreate a sound for sure, but just start by analyzing the components of the sound and take it from there...
