« Fender American Stratocaster HH S-1 »

I am a MAJOR Fender fan. I bought this guitar online through a music retailer. It cost $809, but that is with the $100 dollar rebate from Fender (50 dollars off, 50 dollars back). I wanted an American made (God Bless The USA!) Fender Stratocaster with humbuckers, and the offer came up. It was to good to resist.

Everything. It has a Fender American Black Cobra humbucker in the bridge, and a Fender American Sidewinder humbucker in the neck. The tremelo is an American Standard 2- point syncronized, with stainless steel bridge saddles. It is smooth (I feel sorry for 6- point users). The S-1 switching is a new feature that Fender puts on all American Series guitars equiped with humbuckers (Stratocasters- July 2003- on, Telecasters- July 2004- on)and on almost all American Deluxe Series Guitars (from Jan. 2004- on) To put it simply, it is a series/parallel switch, coil spliter, and additional pickup selection button all rolled into on pot in the crown of the volume knob. It makes the guitar worth every penny. The neck is one- piece maple with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck plate is ajustable for neck angle. The tuners are custom staggered Fender- Schaller.

Nothing.

It's a Strat. When you think of an electric guitar, you think of the shape. It has great build quality, and it is made in the good ole' USA. Great guitar.

My dad just got an American Deluxe 50th Anniversary Strat, and it has 3- SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless) pickups with S-1. They can mimmick humbuckers. But there is just no replacement for a good old lone bridge humbucker on the distortion channel ( the best sound in the world for punk fans) I like mine just as good as my dad's. Leo Fender was touched by God when he designed the Strat.
