UTILIZATION

The handle is all that makes the value of this model. It is historic, beautiful, soft, silky, well done, easy!

the guitar is light, the ergonomics, it's a standard!

The vibrato and mechanical are completely correct for the style of use allowed!
.

SOUNDS

No way suited to my style of music ... METAAAALLLLLL ! ! ! But that is not his calling! This is the guitar of Shadows, the Rock'n Roll, ballads.

Tested on a Marshall Lead 150, it excels at clean sounds. The sound achieved by the arrangement of three microphones is consistent with what we can expect. Low, mid, Treble! Quality is at the appointment, it is hot, slap it, it's brilliant, crystalline, and all very clean! Sound wickedly vintage (Buddy Holly, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton)!

Addition 09/09/11: After 3 months of use, it is clear that the simple side bridge does not break bricks, any sound to say the "ugly"! But against the other two: a pure delight even better than my Telecaster made in United States! Straw!
:)))

In distortion is not really that according to my purely metallic. But it can do (and quite well) for how the Blues Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton (as against that snoring is bad if not in contact with the strings!).
That said, nothing replaces the distortion humbuckers, dual coils that have made a much more emotional and who have no fault "hum" inherent in single coils.

OVERALL OPINION

After 3 months of daily use, a marvel question its absolutely amazing (except for that of the bridge) and reliable!
I love it! ! !
Bought second hand but as new € 365 (€ 400 for) after negotiation, I think it's not a bad deal considering the quality of its finish, comfort and beauty of the handle, the sound of its microphones its authentic side (although made in Mexico).

Designed in the '50s (when the so-called popular music dominated by the Jazz turned into Rock'n Roll), it is in fact totally unsuitable for my style of music. It was not until the 70's and the changes it will undergo changes for the instrument and find a more compliant with the birth of the Metal initiated by guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Ritchie Blackmoore and transcended by Yngwie Malmsteen, before n 'marks appear dedicated, inspiring them (Jackson Charvel, Kramer, ESP and BC Rich), which will delight its supremacy in this field.

To conclude, it is a guitar curiosity. Far from the current standards in terms of technology (ancient) and sound (not an ounce of versatility), very typical of an era of music, however it has a charm, the charm of retro items, antiques!

So it will join my TELECASTER Anniversary to play anything else than metal or, in perspective, not much for now ...
Will still be nice to him and continue to fascinate me and charm me ...

- My story: Preview in my thrift store Saturday, 18/06/11 at the bottom of my street, it was purchased by pure chance. With no specific need (having everything I need to satisfy my passion) is first the logo and model FENDER Strato who have questioned. Exposed next to a Lite Ash was retro modern side by side.
Having owned one of the 60 TELECASTER the handle similar to the finish, varnished blond / honey, but have never owned a STARTOCASTER, the temptation to solve this sacrilege emerged immediately. Not very sensitive to large heads of the 70 (Hendrix, Blackmoore), both carried the ideal design for my taste!

After testing, so I looked for the Classic 50 for the reasons mentioned above.

Returning to the store on Monday to finish up my mind, I would have taken two (complementary) the Lite Ash had been sold shortly before my arrival ... Damned and the better it is without regret! -
:))

Addition on 23/06/11. The omnipresent buzz of being simple unbearable, I was able to significantly reduce this default by isolating the electronic parts. After searching the net I cobbled something but it works: I lined the cavities with foil, wrapped the mic with Teflon tape and then aluminum foil and electrical tape and covered the inside of the aluminum pickguard adhesive. Desperate times call for great ways ... !
Result: Clearly this buzz and almost no distortion is much better! Against by the sound of microphones emerges changed: more powerful, more flashy!
