It's a Mexican Start in 2002. IT ALL A BIG!
She packed right now, I exchanged against an Epiphone Sheraton. The vibrato is a 6 screws at odds Southwestern (galley if you want to ask the all-steel high-end). I replaced the mechanical oil bath by a genuine KLUSON RI 62 through the eyelets of adaptation. The neck has 21 frets, I have some problems of frizz, I think coming from the angle of the neck heel, which would require a small wedge 2 / 10 of a millimeter.
5-way switch very efficient, accurate, no cracks.
For pickups config: SSS, there is a Fender Texas Special mounted handle, the other two being original and quality more than adequate.
The varnish is a bit thick and the wood (poplar) a little soft (I have one screw that rotates in the blank).

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, really in the tradition of Fender (it is made to US more)
Access to acute is honest and no surprises: it is a stratum, not a Steinberger.
ergonomics: for me it is not better!
The sounds are excellent for vraimant a Mexican Start is bluffing! As the previous owner told me: "I had an American Start, it's the same!"

SOUNDS

The sound is exactly what I was looking for: slamming funk and rock, a sound with a guitar inaccessible gender Gibson.
I plugged into my Peavey Studio Pro modest and it sounds! With a chorus, a delay, a wah, compression and distortion made to order by a friend (the BSIAB II), the foot!
The sounds are really typical of intermediate stratum and Fender Texas Special is delicious and full of bass!
In addition, the bridge pickup is clear and dry, I consider myself almost as a Telecaster sound is incisive on this position!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for six months, after detours through the Telecaster and the Sheraton. Returning to his first love!
Shines in the stratum records bluesy / jazzy while remaining flexible, it keeps slamming it so typical (John Frusciante ah!)
It seems to me surpérieure all other strat mex I've tried, and all the guitarists who have tried it think the same thing! I had a pot ... apparently.
The value for money is interesting, especially in time, we start with a basic € 350/400 which leaves some subsidies to buy good mics (although mine were correct)
I would do that choice again! at that price it was a real Fender Stratocaster, not just a logo! In addition to the model improves, as the poplar will be replaced by alder.
But the best is yet to come because I'm going to graft a new bridge pickup, a vintage noiseless!
That is, an excellent basis for customization, for my part we can say that I "classicisée" and the appropriation of the object for me!
