    Not too bad

Ibanez JS100 Joe Satriani SignaturePublished on 05/24/11 at 13:09
Let me first start by saying that I am not a fan of Joe Satriani. I like the guy and listen to some of his stuff but I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan. So I am middle of the road when it comes to biased towards him as a player.

There are some Ibanez's out there that I enjoy and then there are some that I'm not too fond of playing. This one I am a little indifferent on. In some instances you get a signature guitar of your favorite or somewhat favorite guitar player and you get it well under $1000. Not a bad deal for the superfans of Joe Satriani. On the other hand I don't feel like it is a superior guitar. The shape of it is kind or boring and the arch top doesn't appeal to me cosmetically. …

    SOUNDS

The sound isn't anything out of the ordinary from Ibanez. Like most Ibanez guitars this one doesn't have any sould either. That is my biggest beef with these guitars is that none of them have any feeling or soul. The are shredders for sure but if you aren't able to combine that with any soul or feeling your are just playing notes.

This one comes with the standard to humbucker set pickups. Many time you get out what you put into it but I just find Ibanez lacking in the soul catagory. The guitar sounds great for what it does and it is meant to be shredding. The pickups are great and give a good balance to the instrument.

    OVERALL OPINION

At new these guitars come in at around $800 which is a great price for a guitar in general and an even better price for a signature guitar. The tone is great for rocking and shredding and will make a lot of people very happy. I am just not that keen on the body shape too much.

I would recommend this guitar to any fan or somewhat of a fan. This probably isn't going to be a guitar that will appeal to most people that like Ibanez, since their other body shapes fit more of the style they are going for.

    OVERALL OPINION

    A superb guitar!

A big sound that resembles a Les Paul when using the neck pickup, a sound 'modern' in bridge pickup.

Floyd tremolo works: you can type in without fear disagreement fatal. In short, a good guitar that does not bow in shame before the standarts Gibson, Fender and others.
Of course, a good guitar is not a sufficient condition for having a good game .. ... Must still be a master at the controls.
