I buyed this guitar from a shop in Ireland, because i wanted to play like KIRK HAMMET (dream on...). It costed 150$

I like the color-black, i like the single coil 'cause it delivers a very fender type sound, i like the headstock and the keys

I don't like the humbuckers-too noisy, the switch sucks sucks sucks-if you touch it slightly there is a big chance ur guitar sound will stop (imagine this happening in front of 100 people and you will feel like i felt (((

Poor, but good for the pice

if u want to start playing guitar buy this one, but i sugest Ibanez RG170-much more better

this was my first guitar and it cost £150 but this was a really good deal it is normally £180. Anyway it came with practice amp strap...ect.

I really like its price! It has an excelent volume control knob and tone switch. It is a nice wieght not so light you feel you've bought nothing for your money but not so heavy you can barely lift it let alone play. It also has fantastic acustic ability and can be heard easily without an amp this is very useful for a learner because they may have leasons with out an amp.

I obviously loved this guitar because i knew no other. But as i got better and tried other guitars i soon found its faults. It has a lot of pickups which i must say makes me feel uneasy, it has 2 humbuckers and a regular. It has so many they must be poor quality because they cost so little. The tone knob does very little for the guitar except add extra wieght. It can come out of tune quite easily.

The main neck and structure of the guitar are solid but i easily lost a screw which helds in a pickup.

An excellent choice for a begginer - cheap and cheerful - however looking for a more experienced player then look elsewhere.

UTILIZATION

The handle is nice, access to acute and a little hard on all remaining boxes, but the form still allows dug to reach
Very good ergonomics, it is light enough, the form is modern.
We obtain easily the sound you want (it depends also on the amp) but you can feel the difference by changing microphone position, or tone ... (The volume also ..)

SOUNDS

The sounds are well suited to my style (rock, punk, grunge, anything that goes through my head, actually!)
I'm currently playing with a Fender Frontman 15R, I tried to play on a Marshall 100w with a Boss DS1 distortion pedal, well ... nirvana sound is there (among others).
You can get a good overdrive, the clean is very good too.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this guitar for 6 months for the price at which it is sold, I find the value for money excellent. Yamaha put me in confidence, and entry-level model shows, I advise all beginners, and with experience, to begin, I would do is definitely the choice!

The tuners are pretty crappy. The remaining equipment is correct given the price.

UTILIZATION

The handle is nice (close enough), easy to play. Access to acute is correct. I find the ergonomics exellent, it's a nice guitar to play: it is light and well designed. The configuration is quite versatile and gives good sound.

SOUNDS

The sounds are well suited to my style of music (rock, pop, reggae, read). I use it on several amps (A AS50R via a multi-purpose and a Marshall VS80). We can get just about any type of sound (sound funky, the bass distortion).

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years and I am satisfied, although I'll replace it with a good strat when I have the money. I think it is fine to start because it is very versatile and suits many styles which is convenient because when you start it is not necessarily accurate to what style we are heading. The price / quality ratio is unbeatable. I would do the same choice without hesitation.

Finish is an entry-level (simple points pearlescent on the handle, etc. ...) but quality, the varnish is good.

UTILIZATION

The neck is fast and even more when we have to make some settings (string height). Highs are playable, nothing more. The overall balance is very good, the game is comfortable standing because the body is relatively light. The body is thin enough and the chamfer at the right forearm makes things more enjoyable. The form stratabound flate the eye at first but quickly becomes too classic for my taste, everything is still caught by a sober flawless, black suits him well: p.
The use of simple knobs, volume and tone can quickly explore the capabilities of the machine, but I develop this in the next section.
A fault that I must point out, on my guitar, the back plate is perforated to allow the strings to pass without having to remove the plaque. Unfortunately, the holes of the plate are not aligned with those of the vibrato! Therefore, unless you tinker a little, remove the plate every time.
Last thing, the mechanics are fickle sometimes.

SOUNDS

With this guitar, you can play everything. The resulting sounds are not necessarily of great quality, but they are indeed the. Blues, rock, heavy rock / metal anything goes, but reinforcement of good pedals (and receiver) all the same (I play on Marshall and Boss MD-2, nothing to hope with a little amp and a Zoom Jim Harley).
Extreme positions and stick easel give good sounds in general and this is actually the best game on the 2 pickups of this guitar, both doubles. They can either play the blues very warm and round rocks either angry or extreme.
The positions with the microphone just are noisy (the middle position and 2 intermediate), but a small shielding inside the guitar should fix this problem.
The sustain is not great, unless you completely block the tremolo. Sometimes there is really an outright collapse of the note.
Also, I'm not really managed to get a crunch worthy of the name.

I put all the same good average without hesitating, because for the price this guitar is in the stomach and provides a broad spectrum of sounds.

OVERALL OPINION

I started with this guitar, it has been 2 ½ years and I do not hide that it is high time for something more serious. This guitar is a good choice for the beginner due to its versatility (and price!), But when one begins to find his style, we want to spend any more personal.
I think this guitar provided a living wage to any beginner, and that is what we are asking him to be less a guitar burst onto scene.

UTILIZATION

I find the neck very comfortable for a low-end model, it is amazing the ease with which it connects the shreds and sweeping strings once properly set.
Access to the treble is not too annoying.
In weight, the guitar is pretty light, which is handy, as to the form it is rather basic.
Personally to the plate 'protection' back (to change the springs of the tremolo), I prefer to remove it, it only serves to make it pretty like all the guitars, and since I do not show the back of my guitar when I play, it's not a problem (anyway I do not play it!).
on the other hand I would point out that the mechanics do not look positively robust! Before I did not pay too much attention and now that I changed my guitar, it makes me obvious.

SOUNDS

I think this guitar is quite versatile, for beginners it is good, the microphones according to their position are also at ease in distortion (its rather balanced) than the clear.
We may regret the lack of heat microphones, but above all, find me a guitar at this price with a warm sound!
Overall, the sound is fairly neutral and all mic positions may give a pleasant sound.
Like all the guitars, the sounds that I hate are the ones with the key to 0 (yuck disgusting!)
on the other hand I found that the apparent bends very well (thanks to the handle 22 boxes)
With the mic and many serious saturation, "Parisienne Walkaway" Garry Moore sounds really great, in fact, when we bend the solos, it sounds good in general.

The major weakness of his (but forgivable for the price of the instrument) are the Palm-mutes who do not stand out very well, especially when I compare it to my BC Rich Platinum Pro Beast .... (But the price is not the mêm either!: D)
If sustain is not great and the intermediate positions are quite noisy (it is better to use a clean sound)
Takes a funny thing, when I put the selector in the middle position and when I pushed down, the sound changes completely, I feel like I just use the microphone simple, I admit it quite simply amazing even if it is defective electronics.

OVERALL OPINION

While previous notes that I have are not very high, I still enormously difficult to criticize this guitar, especially for its price!
Honestly, for its price range, I think it does (or rather was) part of one of the best value for money!
But unfortunately, according to the official website of Yamaha, I feel that this guitar is no longer made ..

The interface is efficient, no surprises. This is not upscale, but has for its money by finding the usual rigors of the mark.

Regarding the sound, this guitar has the defects of a versatile instrument. The sound is not too distinctive. Again, that is to link with the price. It is a good tool to start and get an idea of ​​what we look later in another instrument.

SOUNDS

I play a lot of things, so the versatility of this guitar suits me. The neck pickup gives great sounds good and saturated fat. You can use the bridge pickup sounds to have more crystalline. The single microphone in the center allows for lighter sounds, light or sound.

Since learning is my guitar, I also took amps versatile: the Micro Cube and cube 20x (a treat in sounds "clean").

Negatives: the game in the vibrato, even if the agreement is good and the lack of sustain (again, considering the price ...)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for six months, I tested three or four models before buying.

Pros:
- Versatility
- Solid construction (except the switch, replace)
- Sounds "fat"
- Ergonomics

Cons:
- Vibrato (which I am now in the left hand)
- Sustain a little weak

I do it again this election if I still need a versatile guitar. It's good to learn and progress, but by containing in particular styles, we seek a more distinctive.
