Sub PS-9 active is a DSP controlled subwoofer with integrated 8500 watts CLASS D amplifier and a 21” woofer. The 21” speaker has a long excursion of 60 mm and an impedance of 0.5 ohms. The power output is equivalent to four high-power 18” woofers, the company says.
The excursion of the speaker membrane is controlled by DPC (Differential Pressure Control) technology, designed to generate high pressure levels and produce a tight, controlled bass response.
Subwave PS-9 active is designed for large venues, clubs or stadiums requiring higher levels of bass. It is also described as a good partner for WaveLine line array systems. The PS-9 active is equipped with DSP signal processors developed and made by Fohhn and can be operated and controlled via the Fohhn Net network. The wooden housing is finished with a PU coating.
During use, the supply to the amplifier is constantly monitored. If at any time it exceeds the maximum permitted range (180–255 VAC), the supply will be interrupted, the manufacturer says. During power up it also minimizes the input surge current by switching on at the mains voltage zero crossing.
Pricing & Availability
The PS-9 is expected some time in May, at a price of around €11,000.
