TopicPosted on 08/07/2006 at 19:10:34help with midi/notation
are there any freeware(or shareware that can record 5+ minutes and save) that can do any one of the following
wav to midi(i know it wont be perfect, but does anyone know of one that works with any decencey)
MP3 to notation(yeah right but I can hope)
Mp3 to midi
record as midi for stereo mix
or anything that could basically accomplish the following
There is a song(Majoring in the minors, by Chuck Brown) That is completely piano. I Have it as an MP3. I have adobe premeire(which, just in case you are wondering can not handle midi's properly) as well as windows movie maker, and have a bit of experience with editing, converting and such(not much obviously). I am trying to get this song into notation for piano.
Also, it is not the only song that I want converted, so I need to be able to do it myself(or else you will have to put up with constant demands)
Thanks in advance!

Most wav-to-midi programs usually require monophonic (one note at a time source) input. As for the state of the art regarding transcribing technology, the human ear is still the best there is out there.
