«  Very very strong character »

Published on 04/17/11 at 07:29
Made in California, very nice finish (candy purple on mine)
Maple neck 22 frets glued,
Alder body with a Floyd laid on the table.
Pickups HH Duncan JB TB4 Seymoor in bridge and Seymoor Duncan 59 'neck to also laid on the table almost without trapping.
Electronics simple: a volume knob and a 3 position switch.

UTILIZATION

The handle:
Super nice, great precision and space for my big fingers.
Harmonics go very easily even on the last fret.
Settled in the small pile by the Music Zoo in New York, all notes sound just the little hair of the neck end of the handle, yet I thought it impossible. I've had it for over a year now, and it has not budged despite the change of strings and transport.

Table:
The is the heart of it which has very strong character. I explain:
It is a skyscraper and bridge pickups with mounted without screwing on the table, so she keeps her true identity Telecaster, to something close. That something is the kind of sympathetic resonance that I have on all the C (why do one?). Charvel stores sustain this enormous all keys to Do or there, the body goes into a loop with resonant strings and Sustain want ad vitam ... I wish I had advice from other happy owners to see if there are only mine that reacts like that.

SOUNDS

Anyway, since I have it, I abandoned my prejudices about the split without HH mounts.
Everything goes on this guitar (especially in C major ...), blues (love!), Funk (my passion!), Large rock (it's funny, hip live on a marshall, I recognize the Slash grain), etc..
I was even told that the humbuckers Seymoor marry well with the amps a little dry and christalins like Fender ... I am now convinced otherwise, the Hot Rod Deluxe with 6V6 block me out a sound to kill a horse at 200m, which reminds me also that of an Australian short.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been over a year since I played it, and I always find a little more fun to play with one instrument to large print, almost unique (body + tele seymoor). I was a fan of strats so that when I found it on sale the other side of the Atlantic, I wondered if it was not the whim too.
Obviously not, he is not born who will redeem me.
A small glance at the records that I released with:

All the guitars of the song "West" out live on an AC30, a hot rod III and a simulated dual grinder, the effects are reverb and delay my card MOTU.
