Published on 04/15/12 at 10:25Squier special series made in China, inspired by 50's TV, classic single bobilages microphones, one volume one tone, dial 3positions. Pretensioner string type metal nut / washer, with vintage mechanical slots and holes for the string, brass bridge saddles 3, pine body, maple neck all 21 boxes. butterscotch blond finish, thick black plate 5 screws. Neck pickup attached to the body, not on the plate.
UTILIZATION
nmanche is the very strong point of this little guitare.radius net, very pleasant, semi jumbo frets allow an easy game in bendings. the finish is remarkable for this price, not too round profile C, absolutely wonderful softness and ease. The varnish is bright, beautiful and does not stick in hand. I had a little bowl, the maple neck has a birds eye ... veining almost a wonder! The guitar is lightweight, super comfortable for a TV "base".
SOUNDS
its typical vintage telecaster, so special and distinctive country blues, very much focused on acute, hard to saturate, if you do not forget!
for those who love, the sound is there, the bridge pickup has the juice, a nice fat andit is sending riffs on pop country or delirium. The neck pickup slightly raised close to the strings has a beautiful character and can play almost everything, jazz, blues, accompanying almost acoustic, funky, delicious. The intermediate position is just too bizare for us to do something.
That said, the output level remains a bit weak and it lacks a bit in the medium of sound. especially as a corrective tone is almost indispensable if one wants to avoid the highs are too intrusive. have fun for a bit, I compensate with the MXR MICROAMP I push at 11am, but it does it well.
controls the tone / volume work well, which is an important point. (I changed the condo for a sprague vitaminQ 0.033μf I was warm in my boxes, and it is even more effective.
Nevertheless, being able to compare other TV and other microphones, these are defined, have gas, brilliance (better than less) and dynamics even if we can do better. the bridge pickup is mounted on copper plate, rare on such a range and ensures the design and its vintage.
clarification, the neck pickup is attached to the body, you can adjust the microphone and look inside without loosen the strings since the plate is free after 5 screws removed easily and password. This're actually quite handy!
OVERALL OPINION
The guitar is properly adjusted out of the box and adjusted intonation and accuracy, increase the base of addario (!) Is great comfort (lightweight), the handle does not tire at all, sounds are excellent once the correct carburetion found. she go out of tune all the time, she is very beautiful and is taken in his hands for a yes or a no!
For those like me who swear by electronics that fits 100% minimum, a change of pickups this guitar can put almost at the U.S. for a price without comparison. it's a bargain.
NOTHING TO DO with the standard range of Squier and 2 below (affinity, bullet), it is to get back together with China and with Squier. much better than the Fender Chinese, a Korean I also tried.
I tried the custom model with a rosewood fingerboard, comfort was even better, but there was barely a pbl scary. the idea is to have two different tv with two sets of high-end microphones for less than 1000 euros. do not miss this series. FYI the strats are of the same ilk.
