Mikka Grytviken
« From custom shop for cheaper than the U.S. Standard. »
Published on 02/12/11 at 14:36All parts are made in the USA except the pickups that come from U.S. but wound elements by hand in China. The bridge is a Gotoh six independent bridges for a better setting. The neck is maple with rosewood fingerboard tiger at radius type compound vintage 9 "head side to finish almost flat 14" side terminal sleeve / body, 22 frets and a stainless Nut ivory uploaded by my luthier (reassured you, that recovery of the ivory nothing ilegal). The body is Alder with orange sunset tranlucide nitrocelluloïde finish when the finish of the handle is matte type. The tuners are Gotoh head type and vintage microphones are more Tonerider Vintage. A three position switch, a Knob volume and a second tone all associated with a pick guard perloïde.
UTILIZATION
The handle is a reflection of what is known about Telecasters usually very comfortable taking place soon forget. The combined radius is very interesting because it makes the game open agreement about natural head, the rest of the handle from s'applatissant in the game a consistent drop, drop 2 .... as well as sliders source and passages lead above the 12th fret are significantly improved comfort compared to a single round at radius of 9 "for example. The overall ergonomics of the Telecaster is not what is best, but not what is worst. overall comfort is more than correct. The weight is quite light but I chose the body as this criterion among others. The it is naturally alive, the answer to the game is perfect.
SOUNDS
If it fits my style? you kidding? Oh yes! The Telecaster besides being the first solid body guitar to have been commercilisée génialisime by Leo Fender, a guitar is an incredibly versatile. My style is a mixture of Blues, Jazz, Soul, Funk and Rock and Telecaster gives me satisfaction on this point. No Sound is not fat but not lean so far, always Christallin, slamming into sound and light and can become Cranked organic crunch without losing its definition nor its Twang. The neck pickup can be mellow, it's largely a matter of hit see the same round by playing the tone. It never fails nor heat nor presence. intermédière position is really for the rhythm. The bridge pickup is no longer present. Tonerider These Vintage Plus really make all the essence of the Telecaster, the Twang, the reactive side and percussive, acoustic side as well as depth and richness of the high-mids. I mainly play Thor Teutates plugged into a 15 with generally very little effect, a small reverb, delay set to slap back, sometimes a longer delay set for more space, SRT OD pedal, a Cry Baby Wha and a volume pedal and I have quite enough. All sounds to me plaisesnt on this guitar. simplcité The Telecaster is the Efficiency of three essential sounds and the rest is the musician who does.
OVERALL OPINION
After two years of use and now that It is well settled aprfaitement and lapped, I feel perfectly comfortable with this guitar. I have long sought the Telecaster that clung to my needs. So I tried dozens and mostly Fender series and various qualities. And just as with the Stratocaster, which is also a model that I like I found satisfaction in custom designs. The two essential features of this guitar are the sound and simplicity. But beyond what mattered to me then was the curve of the stick approach and vintage / modern, combining the best of both worlds for a result right for me both in terms of sound comfort. The value for money is undeniable in the sense that I paid only the price elements and port ... at the same time the assembly does not cost me half a day. And what is even with my settings Stratocasters luthier It took me two years to get to the perfect settings ... the wood being what it is, living and noble. You understand that I am very satisfied and if it was redone, it would be without hesitation.
