« Excellent vintage tremolo typed »
Published on 04/25/12 at 12:28Tremolo pedal, operates with 9v battery or external power supply such Boss.
One trick I like: the power jack, the input and output jacks are placed at the rear of the pedal, practice when you want to place it in a pedalboard.
UTILIZATION
Three control knobs: depth (depth effect), speed (velocity) and volume (very convenient to adjust the output level depending on the gear used and / or how it is used). Finally, there is a switch that is supposed to switch between tremolo to vibrato mode. This is a misnomer, it simply change the curve of vibrato. It is stronger and a little more ground when the switch is in position, and that's actually how I use most often today.
SOUND QUALITY
The tremolo is one of my favorite effects and I use it a lot. I own four different models in the range of price and I use the T-rex for nearly six years. So I think to give notice (approximately) illuminated.
Let us say right away, it satisfies me, it's very good stuff.
At first glance, you can do better, both in terms of price and in terms of versatility.
Frustrated by his lack of versatility precisely, I almost got rid of it, but it holds a candle to any other model in terms of sound and reliability.
The LED flashes at the speed selected modulation, current on most tremolos but still practical. It does not however very fast pulses as the Electro-Harmonix Pulsar example. Moreover, I also have a top model (Empress Tap Tremolo) which has ten times more versatility and allows incredible things well beyond what can the T-rex, which does not impact very "chopped" as found elsewhere.
No, the chosen field of Tremster is the vintage sound of authenticity. And there he is unbeatable. The sound is soft, while having a very nice color, it complies with the sound of the guitar. I often use it with a Les Paul but with a Stratocaster that sounds best to me. Most other tremolo sound "cold" in comparison. We console ourselves very quickly to its lack of versatility, since - logically requires vintage - it is confined to what was permitted a tremolo of the past. But how!
Also the housing is large and solid (I love the format of the T-rex) despite the extensive use I have never had a malfunction. A T-rex, it's still pricey, but worth its price. Spread the word!
Something unimportant but that bothers me a bit: it starts automatically as soon as you power up the unit.
OVERALL OPINION
The tremolo is one of my favorite effects and I use it a lot. I own several different models across the price range and I use the T-rex for nearly six years. So I think to give notice (approximately) illuminated.
If you simply want a classic tremolo without the need for a trick that allows special effects and / or excessive, there is no better.
Word of trémoliste seasoned!
