Value For Money : Correct
See product manufacturer and other notices. some negatives:
the lack of headphone and line out which involves the use of a microphone for a sound recovery.

the presence of two separate channels at the equalizer would have been significant, but at that price, do not ask too much either.

Finally, the biggest failure, hence the low price, for the poor quality of components (transformer, welding ...) that make it a very reliable amp you might be let go at any time (for me, it m 'arrived on stage ... dodgy!)

Otherwise, it's an amp that deposit! (30 watts official, but with the volume at 4, I cover the members of my group)

UTILIZATION

Operation is very simple, only gripe (I'm repeating myself, but hey), single control system for the clean channel and saturated, which limits somewhat the possibilities because the sound remains the same in light or in full. On the other hand, given the simplicity of configuration, we find easily that the sound is desired. Personally, I use it with a lot of bass, these latter being deeper and present at will, with respect to acute, I do not put too much, because once pushed, it tends to explode the ears, this being due to my wah wah pedal that alters the frequency response of the amplifier with a peak in the treble (so I had to adjust the settings of the amplifier according to this parameter) and the hp of average quality. reading the manual does not much frankly.

SOUNDS

There is, in my opinion, no style to which this amp can not adapt (except may be metal, though it should be possible to correct with a good distortion pedal), the sound is clean and deep (whether by clear channel or saturated, the distortion is also much more cantankerous than might be expected at first), and it brings out the sounds of each of the guitars I use ( a gibson LP and a Fender Start).

Since (this is an upgrade), I replaced the original hp with a celestion V30 (the Blue Marvel ended up in a cabinet in my production): the sound is better defined, less noisy and imprecise, cleaner , silky, warm ...

I also heard frequent users complain c30 self disants vibrations of the lamps, and well for me, I never faced this problem with mine, it just makes a slight hum normal (a little more if you use the effects loop) due to the same components of any tube amp, but nothing nasty.

I also replaced the lamps with a preamp 12aX7EH electro harmonix in position 1 (excellent) and a jjecc83 in position 2 (bof, it provides an extra gain, but suddenly it's a bit too yucky, I So given the original Sovtek 12AX7LPS the sound cleaner and smooth)

Well, once I put the 8 HP with the change, otherwise it would rather be 6-7 ..

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 years, and was until recently, happy with my investment (if I had the dosh, I can be bought a classic 50, but ultimately, I do not regret because seen the classic potato 30, I wonder what would have served the "50" watt model above). Indeed, in recent months, it is subject to frequent breakdowns, and it gets heavy!

I tried other amps before buying, and aside from an ENGL EUR 1000, no one else seemed to have as rich and deep sounds (I also tried a fender hot road deluxe, and for me it did not photo: I found that the fender was a super clear sound, certainly, but a rough and dirty sound distortion compared to the classic 30)

In short, a price / quality ratio right for sound quality with return (especially after changing the HP which makes it a level crossing);
For against (hence its low price compared to equivalent power amplifiers of other brands), no headphone output and line out, single channel control system / light saturated and especially electronic components of shit that make for arrival amp unreliable subject to multiple breakdowns. So, I plan to part with it, sorry to all the same because I love his sound and vintage look ...
