Amp lamps with three channels: green for clear sound and LGERS crunch, blue, for crunch and distortion "old" red for more modern distortion. To this adds the mode of plexi assignable one of the Distortion channel, which mimics the sound of a classic Marshall. Two assignable prsences with a green or red channels. The rglages:
* Green channel: gain, bass, mdiums, treble, volume, boost, pre-legalization (three positions: neutral, Brighton 1 and 2).
* Blue channel: gain, volume, pre-legalization.
* Red Canal: gain, volume, pre-legalization.
* Blue and Red Channel: Bass, mdiums, acute, structure (which Reduces the gain), boost, plexi mode (three positions: neutral, blue or red).
In gnral: SETTING THE prsence two, each with three positions named a rglage gre excursion bass response. Switch "half power" switch "old / new style" passing lamps in triode or pentode. arduit power and rendered acute. Switch Class A / Ab (optional). Effects loop operating in or parallle SERIES. Line out. Pdalier seven switches: green, blue, red, 1 and 2 boost, effects loop, and standby.
Trs so full, but it lacks a volume gnral. It existed on the Previous MODEL, but t sacrificed to second prsence. You can use the volume of the loop to grate all a. Another small BMOL, the legalization of common blue and red channels, but ultimately we can manage without playing on rglages pr-legalization.
Rverb No, no onboard effects.
In the end, no rglage is superfluous or unnecessary. Also no knob that turns in any direction without finding anything has served as on some amps. So a good place.
UTILIZATION
As said prcdemment is rgler complex, to the extent of rglages plthore ago. But everything sounds ... Some rglages interact. For example, the class A / Ab plays on the compression and rendering sharp, like the "old / new style. So, in the old style, with acute attnus means little trs Difference between A and Ab is the price paid for versatility.
The possibilities are standards, but I think this amp does not lose me either. It remains cohrent in its sound. The manual is comprehensive, but is only available in the language of Jack the Ripper. Bad sound, this amp does not connate ...
SOUNDS
The sounds:
In Manir gnrale, the sound is quite dark and sweet trs, trs soft.
* Canal Green fenderien its quite in the spirit of a Deluxe Reverb. IMMEDIATE is less than the Shiva, which is a bit better and softer. The Xtc is capable of clean sounds fabulous, but it involves some rglages. For a high gain head, the sound clear, well-slamming is among the best. With the boost, we obtain a more jazzy sound, a little more compressed. Can be cruncher lgrement sound clear.
* Blue Channel: trs its class, offering Arian crunch and rich, rather dark, but going well in the mix trs, trs expressive. There is a spirit in amphtamines Marshall. Moreover, compared to other amps sound closer in spirit (Marshall JVM 800, Orange Rocker 30) the Xtc offers its more pais.
* Red Canal: close enough to the blue, but more compressed and with a little more gain. It has a color a little more modern, but can sound vintage when the amp is configured in the IDE (old style Class A). With the boost engaged obtained trs liquid sounds, great for solos, with many rsonnance.
* Plexi mode: either it is used as a clear, more compressed and denser than the green (over Marshall in short) or crunch. It sounds, but ancessite to push a little volume, as prciser in the manual. The sound is great for blues or Led Zep (with the gain pushed. It accepts trs well overdrives of all kinds.
One of the strengths of XTC in his capacity RSID trs sound good, even low volume trs. It must be said that with the DIFFERENT switches, you can descend 100 (120 according to the manual) 50 and 25 watts and 7 watts even with the optional Class A! In fact, I use my same attnuateur not: it sounds better than my Orange Room 30 watts! The switch structure allows rduire will gain when there is too much, which is handy.
The loop is excellent, not blame his keeper.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for six months. I regret the absence of a volume gnral. For the rest, I think the ultimate amp. You can do everything with, from jazz country music, from blues to heavy. It's a monster usable in all circumstances, in the Room, as in a stadium. This is the amp with which I use as few pedals (one on the TS mode or green plexi and a delay). A sign. It is simply itself. I do not think any amp can fill me as much, even though I have not tried everything I've known a lot (AC30, JCM900, Shiva, Studiotone, JTM60, DELIVERANCE, Rocker 30 ... )
The problem is the price, but we need perspective. For slightly less expensive, some brands who sell amps plop change the channel, which are inrglables and do not sound below 140 db. Finally, next one eye, but I would do this choice. In a way, found in one case even a Fender Deluxe Reverb, a JTM45, JCM800 and a 900 SLX. At worst, it should find occasion. The price is forgotten, the quality remains.
