Class A all-tube head
It delivers 5 watts of power.
Equipped with Sovtek series of lamps: 1 12AX7, 1 6L6.
Jack imput.
At the rear, three output impedance: 4, 8 or 16 OMH.
At the front, a volume knob.
And that's all ...
One could blame the lack of an effects loop and an adjustable bass and treble, like the Fender Champ 60 and 70 years. But is it really necessary for users of the head Epiphone?

UTILIZATION

Because the bottom line is this: how and for what its use?

resume from the beginning: I was looking for a head, all-tube, delivering the minimum power to be able to just use max sound tubes without disturbing the whole neighborhood.

This head is still little known in France, also difficult to find. So I order one in Germany, for the modest sum of 135 euros. At this price, it was just a good pedal, and more!

Surprise: I receive the package quickly. I open: superb finish! vintage look rather like the head is surrounded by black sky, the front is a stuffy a garnet and a yellow plate. At our center volume knob. Not stand by as the low power of the amp. Rather chic in any case it is very successful.

It remains to connect.

I have two Sunn speakers lying around there, each with Celestion December 75 watts. I plug the cable in series with HP.

I catch my telecaster Us

New surprise: the sound is really, really nice.
The guitar is fully respected.
In the fourth volume is not very powerful, the sound is clear, very pure as any good tube amp, I change only with the pickups of my guitar and the tone knob. Ultra simple, ultra-efficient. Perfect for playing at home while having fun!
A half volume, the sound is clear, much more presence, it slams slightly accurate. In any case, it starts to move to the 5 watts!
At 3 / 4, what crunch? Rather bold for my taste, perfect for playing blues. I feel the micro grave to hear the sound of a BB King or Peterson Luckie! Really amazing that Epiphone. I imagine plugging a Les Paul or other humbucker equipped! And what potatoes! In my opinion, it's enough to play in groups in bars or cafes concert. After, you can always transplant. In any case, the grain is really interesting!

Of course not need manual. The one I received is still under célophane ...

SOUNDS

In my opinion: its very typical, not roots, perfect for blues music and rhythm n blues derived type, soul, funk, excellent also for reagge ...
Very interresting to record, because you can push the lamp without getting high ears or use a aténuateur power.
With this in mind: do not hesitate to involve the pedals, distos, reverb or any effects but rather to stay in the vintage tone. We expanded the sonic palette while keeping the heat lamps and the grain so special.
I think qu'épiphone is unbeatable on the market with this product: how to imagine, for 137 euros, while having the lamp? The concept makes me think of the many old amps lamp of small size used by the blues or jazz (fender reverb, field, gibson ...).
I know there is also a combo version, but with a fairly small bowl (From 8 to 10 inches). The advantage of the head, plug it into any of 12 frequency is neglected.
It seems to me also interresting to change lamps for Groove Tubes. (I'd do that in the coming months).

OVERALL OPINION

Look great!
How simple?
Its a real, all-tube, very typical and well roots!
Only 137 euros!
A vintage style, and the more it moves to the 5 watts!
PS there is a kit in the United States to diversify the sounds of the amp and get such different gains. For sale for § 40 or 50 US on ebay.

In short, I conquered.
Congratulations Epiphone.
