« Fender High Gain isn't Everyone's Cup of Tea »

Best value: Excellent
Audience: Advanced Users
First off. It goes without saying that the Fender Clean sound is the benchmark for all amplifiers. It is the basis for comparison and there is really nothing more to say in that regard.
Secondly, the Fender High Gain Sound is really just that. It's the "Fender" Gain/Overdrive/Distortion sound.
It is unique. It seems to me that most dissatisfied users were expecting the Marshall or Mesa overdriven sound for some reason, not understanding that Fender amps are not designed for that purpose. They can be used as an excellent, if not the best, pedal platform amplifier if that is what your intentions are. In that regard, I believe they may be the best. Buy a good gain pedal and distortion pedal and you're good to go! Great amp in all regards!
