Hey there!

My new Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd Gen Interface just arrived. Everything works fine so far except the output over headphones. In my opinion the volume level in general is far too loud. The maximum i can turn the knob too is about 15 %. As I don't want to damage my ears, I'm really worried about this.

Is this high output level over headphones normal for this interface?

Perhaps you should mention the brand and specs of your headphones.

It can't hurt to have a strong driver build in your interface. This way you can connect every type of headphone. I suspect that this was the intention of focusrite.

Scarlett 18i20 has also a nice strong output

I'm having the total opposite problem. No matter what I do with input levels or monitoring levels everything is too quiet!
Somewhere between us there's a solution :)
