Good starting point

OVERALL OPINION
It does come with a small manual, and you don’t have to use Sonar if you don’t want to it just comes with it, it is a perfect match for Garage Band on a mac too. Or you can use it in any of the DAW’s that you want just like it is a regular microphone. On the face or front of the microphone you have 3 knobs one for volume, one for instrument, and one for microphone. The Samson G-Track is really an all in one solution to recording at home. It only cost 119.99 and cuts out the need to purchase other gear like a mixer or interface because it is a USB microphone. This is a must have for a beginner who is getting into writing songs and recording. You will eventually need to upgrade and get a decent set up to be taken seriously because the quality will not get you to where you want to be, but it’s a great starting point!

It is hypercardiode, and thus indicated for the management of its proximity. Singing, instrument.

I do not like the quality of the headphones (and with low background noise foul), a trslger background noise (inaudible in a mix or a small noise gate), the non-recognition of micro for cubase, unless you use ASIO4ALL (which complicates operations), the latency (the ladle 20 ms) if decides not to use the direct monitoring, which is tempting given the quality of the headphones.
- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
This is the first.
- How do you report qualitprix?
Trs good.
- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...
Yes, but to use direct monitoring ncessitant prcis I deprecated. Or you go through your sound card and you must support the latency,
or you go through the microphone, but you must bear the sound quality mdiocre.
Remains that, whatever the mthode chosen, the final result is impeccable.See less10 - tjon901
A serious USB mic
Published on 05/31/11 at 12:06USB mics have been mostly ignored by established studios. Many of them are considered toys or something an amateur would use. Below that that is the instrument knob which controls the input level and finally a mic level. It can handle moo or stereo instrument line inputs by the switch on the body of the mic. It has line inputs with monitoring and level controls. The onboard stereo head phone jack lets you monitor directly from the mic or you can use it with a set of speakers. It's USB connection is where you would find an XLR jack on most microphones. It takes some software tweaking to get the best sound from this microphone. Without tweaking you can get some strange background noise in your recordings.

This mic is good for quick recordings when you need to get an idea down. With tweaking and smart use you can get a professional sound from the G-Track. This is probably the best USB condensor mic on the market and can be a good start to your computer based recording studio.See less00 - victormelamadePublished on 10/19/08 at 07:04This is a really cool piece of technology, not just a microphone. It has a ton of other features housed inside the microphone that make it like 5 products in one. First of all though, it is in fact a large diaphgragm condenser mic. It also has a preamp built in to the microphone itself. So you don't need a separate one to power it. There is also a gain control knob to control how much level you are getting with it. The mic can connect to your computer directly with a USB cable. That is huge because it means you are also getting an analog to digital converter for free in this multi-use tool. There is also a separate input on this mic so you can plug in something that is an instrument or something that is line level. This input is actually in stereo! So if you have a keyboard that has a stereo output and want to get it into your computer, you can do that with this mic. The input can be switched from the mic itself to whatever you have plugged into it. There is still more! You also get a headphone output on the microphone, so you can use it to listen to something to record over without having to get any complicate headphone amplifier setups. The package comes with a desktop stand so you don't need to look elsewhere for a stand. You also can get a shockmount for the mic! Add all these things together and you get a huge value on this discount mic package.
OVERALL OPINION
I borrowed this from a friend a while ago when I wanted to do some podcasting and some light recording from my laptop while I was away. This did the trick and then some! With so many features in a small package it's an ideal solution for someone just getting into podcasting or recording with a limited budget. It's very cheap for a lot of features so it's definitely a good value. Very nice product.See less00
